8 AM

Bike race 1:09:00 [5] 35.0 km (1:58 / km)

Leg 2, Day 2 Freycinet Challenge. Road bike, legs felt ok after day one and again felt comfortable to average 30 plus for the trip. Like day 1 ride the road ride is not over exciting.
10 AM

MTB race 1:17:00 [5] 20.0 km (3:51 / km)

Leg 3, day 2 Freycinet Challenge. Again back to back bike legs so off the roadie and onto the mtb for struggleville ride. Felt better on the the mtb for this leg but probably the easier direction. Loved the downhill section on the way home. Nice to finish.

At the end of the day all my training has been on the road bike and that's where I felt most comfortable and got the best results. Enjoyed competing and watching AB carve up the course. Shows how much work the muppet had done that both his mtb legs were quicker than mine and was not to far behind on the road rides and he was do ing it as an individual!

Now to work on my mtb, run and paddle.............

Bike race 1:40:00 [5] 52.1 km (1:55 / km)

Leg 3, day 1 of freycinet challenge. Road ride good run and paddle from John put me a bit closer to the front than used to, headed out with aim of pushing all the way without the usual " rest spots" felt good for the ride and was able to push when I felt myself slowing so ended up with average of around 33kph and quickest ride ever done on this leg by about 25 minutes.
12 PM

MTB race 1:25:00 [5] 20.0 km (4:15 / km)

Leg 4, day 1 Freycinet Challenge. Back to back bike legs - off the roadie and onto the mtb. Quick summary is that I got what I deserved, two mtb rides since Geo does not cut the mustard so dawdled around the course, hated the climbs, loved the down hill and struggled to move on the flatter sections. Had pushed hard on the road ride and just had no legs......... Disappointing but no excuses.

exercise circuit 1:00:00 [5]

KAW session , what a difference a few hours make......and some food. Looked back at why i was so buggered this morning and realised had not eaten much at all over last couple of days. Felt much better at kaw, very tough session in the burnie park - pushed hard as i could. Took Nick along for a run, i am sure he will be very sore in the morning.
