Paddle race 50:52 [5] 9.0 km (5:39 / km)

Icebreaker race leg 1.

9km paddle on the trevallyn dam. This leg aim was 1.05 so to do it in 51 was a bonus, especially with the run up the hill. Would not of been able to go quicker so happy with the effort.

MTB race 1:19:11 [5] 18.0 km (4:24 / km)

Not much time in transition then onto the bike for 3 laps of a 6km circuit. Pre race goal was 1.20 again, happy with the 1.11, felt comfortable on the bike and was happy effort - great course and loving the specialised.

Run race 47:52 [4] 8.0 km (5:59 / km)

Off the bike onto the run and it was not much fun, had set a goal of 55 for this leg and made 47.52 but was not full distance so probably below par for expectations. Really struggled on bike to run legs - but had zero training at this so got what was deserved, still not happy with run and felt like i had been moving ok in training.

Overall happy with the effort hoped for sub 3-30 then 3-15 would make me very happy, finished at 2-50-43 so very happy as i clocked 33.5km, so the course was a little shorter than the 36km. Estimated 2.5km at slowest discipline (run) would have made me 3-10ish.

Very enjoyable day made even better with the nice spot prize.
