Bike 4:30:00 [3] 34.17 mi (7.6 mph) +4700ft
slept:6.5 weight:182lbs (injured) (sick)
Perfect day for a ride and some great views along the coast. Felt great all day and did a good job with food. Flat tire was the only hicup and just refueled and had a quick change. Even felt a little frisky on the way home and chanced down another rider and we hammered it home together over the last mile.
Run 1:30:00 [3] +500ft
A little sluggish up the first hill of the day, but then settled into a good pace and felt good the whole way. 10 minute transition from run to bike, would have been faster except decided to run in running gear instead of race clothes.
Kayak 1:00:00 [3]
The original plan was to do and 1.5hr paddle, but started run about 30 minutes later than original plan after dropping wife and kids at the airport and Seatrek closed at 5pm. About 40 minute transition between bike and paddle. Choppy and windy again on the water, but felt better than expect. All and all a fun day and the weather really cooperated to add to the fun.
Note
Wife and kids off to Detroit for the week and I will get some good training until I join them on Friday. Just realized that my first race back will happen 3 days before the 1 year anniversay of my multiple knee fracture. I run past the spot of my fall and always think I cannot believe I fell there and what a dope I am.
Anyway it has taken a lot longer than I thought to recover and they will give results of recent MRI next week to try to see why the knee is so crunchy. The nice thing is that is seems to be taking the volume increase and does not swell after exercise. A little more PT and this one should be in the rear view mirror.
