Racing 28:00:00 [3]

Full Moon In June

Not sure of the exact time, but I think we were about that far behind Café Express. A very beautiful course with some interesting terrain! I loved the bushwhacking and they kayak (pretty funny to see Bart and Mike in the sinking boat after they slashed it open). Had some moments on the first trek where I thought I wouldn’t make it through the race as I wasn’t feeling well, but the boys helped me out and once in the first TA I managed to eat and recover. The bike up to and past the advanced CP was pretty as well. Unfortunately Bart didn’t get to enjoy that section much as his bike frame snapped. Luckily we managed to borrow another bike for the last bike section so that we could complete the race. Congrats to Liza and her team for such a speedy race!

Running 15:00 [3]
shoes:

A little run to loosen the legs.

Spinning 20:00 [3]

A little spin to wake the body up.

Yoga 15:00 [3]

A bit of yoga and stretching to get the body ready for tomorrow's race. Nothing is feeling too tight which is nice.

Along the bluff and included a couple of repeats on the curling hill. Nice and warm out!

Mountain Biking 2:10:00 [3] 36.0 km (3:37 / km) +600m 3:20 / km

Elbow Pass with Mike. Felt pretty good climbing but we didn't quite make it to the pass as there was a bit of snow left up high. The ride down was really fun. A quick transition to a scramble up Powder Face.

Hike/Scramble 1:30:00 [3] +500m
shoes: XA Pro Ultra1_1

A quick hike up powder face after our bike ride. The trail was pretty wet and muddy up hight and there was still a bit of snow left.

Running (Trail) 1:10:00 [3] +210m
shoes: XA Pro Ultra1_1

Douglas Fir trail in the rain. Glad to be feeling so good after the run on Friday. Still no pains :)

Mountain Biking 2:10:00 [3] 19.0 km (6:51 / km) +1000m 5:25 / km

Climbed up the gravel road on Mt Seven in Golden and then road the trail system down. The climb up was a good workout. Mike kicked my butt big time. The ride down was not as fun as I recall from a couple of years ago. It was dryer and more worn down and to me more technically difficult as a result. I wimped out on most of the drops and walked a lot of it. I need more technical practice before taking those trails on again.

Hike/Scramble 2:00:00 [3] +700m

Easy hike on the trails past Bart's ski jump run and up Mt. Revelstoke. Nice sigle track all the way up. I was a bit worried about how I would feel after the long run yesterday, but I felt fine.

Mountain Biking 2:05:00 [3] 27.0 km (4:38 / km) +650m 4:08 / km

A really fun ride all over on the Moonraker trail system in Golden with Bart and Mike. Finally started to feel like some of my technical riding was starting to come back. I should have been a bit more agressive though as I could feel myself holding back on obsticles that I usually don't even think about.

Running 2:45:00 [3] 24.0 km (6:53 / km) +510m 6:13 / km
shoes: XA Pro Ultra1_1

Beaver River trail with Mike, Revy and Travis. Great run in some beautiful forest. Perhaps a bit longer than I'm currently built up for, but hopefully no damage done. I will definitely want to come back here again.

Mountain Biking 1:00:00 [3]

A ride on McPhearson with Revy, Mike and Kevin. A bit slick in spots as it was pretty wet. I didn't ride very well on a couple of sections but still had a blast. Glad to have ridden here at least once this summer.

Mountain Biking (Commuting) 1:30:00 [3] 30.0 km (3:00 / km)

To and from work as usual.

Mountain Biking hills 1:45:00 [3] 32.0 km (3:17 / km)

Hill repeats on Edworthy. Bonked big time on the way home. Need to eat more between coming home from work and heading out for a workout. Good climbs though with a heavy pack and water bottles on the bike.

Mountain Biking 2:45:00 [3] 35.0 km (4:43 / km)

Did Rundle Riverside and a bunch of trails at the Nordic centre. Packed the bags a bit heavy again to get used to riding with weight. I had a great time on the trail and love how the bike just floats on top of those roots. Ran into some Scmoes on the way out and when we arrived back at the cars a few hours later we found it barricaded with logs...those Schmoes!

Hike/Scramble 3:30:00 [3] +1200m

A hike up Mt Rundle. Very nice day and we made it up above the snow line. Mike pushed up to a spot where the snow got a little too deep to be fun. I watched from below:). We carried pretty big packs and I was super pleased to be able to push hard on the way up and run all the way back down without a hint of any pains. The run down was actually pretty fun.

Running hills (Hills) 1:00:00 [3] 7.7 km (7:48 / km) +713m 5:20 / km
shoes:

Hill repeats on the Edworthy paved hill with a heavy pack. Very happy with how I felt. No pain anywhere despite the weight and the downhill running!

Mountain Biking (Trail) 2:30:00 [3]

A really fun ride with the Schmoes. Rundel Riverside and the orange trail. plus a nother couple of short sections of trail. Nice to finally ride some technical stuff and start getting used to the mountain bike.

Mountain Biking (Commuting) 1:30:00 [3] 30.0 km (3:00 / km)

Another day to and from work. It's finally getting nicer outside. Perhaps this weekend we can have some sun rather than snow?

Running intervals (Tabata Run) 25:00 [3]

One set of tabata intervals with some warmup and cool down. Those really tire me out!
