Running (Snowy Trail) 1:10:00 [3] 7.5 km (9:20 / km)

Snowy and somewhat cold, but an amazingly beautiful run with fantastic peeps. The team was made up of Slice, CO, Suzy, Chantale, Leo, Fitzy and Simon. The after run party took place at Casa Carbons with additional lovely peeps. What a great community.

Running (Snowy Trail) 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Spikecross

Went for a trot on the trails behind our place (I love saying that, behind our place). It was pretty fun until I remembered that I probably shouldn't run in there by myself after dark. The cats may be looking. It was pretty snowy and the temps were dropping a bit, but the wind wasn't as bad in the trees as out in the open.

Spinning 2:00:00 [3]

A very hard class tonight with a lot of E4 and MAP. Our coach is no longer writing down the workouts on a board, so I can't remember exactly what we did.

Cross Country Skiing (Skate) 45:00 [2]

I'm calling this a skate ski even though I was on classic gear. The lack of grip and really bad early season technique made skate the best way to move forward. I still had a blast with Slice (who was making this outing seem very graceful and simple) and Suzy. The condition of the trails was surprisingly good. I hope I get invited again despite my awful performance tonight.

Running (Trail Run & Scramble) 2:00:00 [3] +600m

Ran the Highline from Quarry Lake and climbed up the Knob (Nub) with runners waaaay beyond my capabilities. I hung out in the back and ensured I was gasping for air for most of the run. Great day with CO, Fitz and Adam.

Fun, fun run with the CTC. I had to work hard to keep with the top group, but managed to hold on most of the time. We got a little spread out on one of the longer climbs, but not bad. Great group and great to get in with the local crew.

Another amazing run. CO and I headed out right after work again. This time to explore the Horseshoe and G8 area, east of Cougar Creek right at the foot of Grotto Mountain. It's pretty cool because we can run on trail all the way...to the trails :). We brought headlamps this time and had them on for the last bit. We forgot the map at home and didn't end up on the planned route and pretty much only saw the Horseshoe area trails. Lots of criss crossing and ups and downs. Fun! The distance is a guess as I didn't record the run from the start.

Whoohaaa, another tough one, but I felt really good.

Running (Trail) 1:09:00 [3] +280m
shoes: Spikecross

CO's and my version of the Montane loop. I will call this the Carbon Loop. I had a really good run. I ran all the hills, except for one very steep scramble up the hoodoos. We got back just as it was getting dark. I need to bring my GPS the next time so that I can record distance and profile.

Running (Trail) 1:20:00 [3]

A really nice run on the Montane Loop. We likely didn't do most people's standard loop as towards the end we climbed up and down on all kinds of trails before finally popping out above our place. I felt much better running today than last weekend. Ran all ups except for two where I walked about half the hills. What an incredibly beautiful day and what amazingly beautiful trails. I still can't believe those trails are our back yard.

Running (Trail) 40:00 [2] 7.0 km (5:43 / km)
shoes: Speed Cross (black)

What a beautiful day. The snow is coming down and there is a blanket of white in all directions. I'm falling in love more and more with this town by the minute. Today we hooked out with our neighbours Simon, Chantel, Heather and Nicki for a little "golf course" run. We started by the bridge downtown (by the river), ran along the river towards the west and curved around the golf course and went back on the other side of the river. It was all flat and wide so perfect for running with a group. Nice crowd.

Hike/Scramble (Run and Scramble) 3:15:00 [3] 17.5 km (11:09 / km) +1500m 7:48 / km
shoes: Speed Cross (black)

A fun day with CO and Suzy where we ran and scrambled the double Pigeon in the Dead Man's Flats area. We are expecting 15-25cm of snow in the next two days and temperatures around -15C (highs) so we wanted to get a good day in prior to that.

Running (Trail) 40:00 [3]

Wow, my first trail run from our new home! What a feeling hitting the trails straight from our street! It's about 20 meters or so to the trail head. I'm feeling unfit from not having done much since we got back from Europe, but that is changing as of today :). Wow!
