Road Biking 2:00:00 [3]

Another road ride with my sister. We started in Bragg Creek and rode an in and out on HWY 66. We had a big head wind on the way out which turned into a very fast ride on the way back. These are the kind of days I wish I could have all the time. Good company, beautiful views and a good workout.

Road Biking 1:30:00 [3]

Nice ride along the river, up Edworthy plus some added roads at the top. I'm feeling a bit better and tried to dig in a little more on a couple of sections, but I'm not quite ready yet. It's close but a few more days of recovery before I try again. I worked up a sweat though which was fun. My sister continues to ride strong.

Road Biking 1:48:00 [3]

A little outing on the 1A with CO and CI. I let CO and CI go ahead of me as I was taking it easier than they were. CI is a bit of a natural at cycling it appears and she gave CO a run for his money. I still can't put down much power so it was more of a cruise for me. Nice day!

shoes: Speed Cross (gray)

Today's hike was a bit longer and gained elevation more gradually than yesterday. Had a lunch break at Lake Annette and then continued up to the Giant Step. I didn't go all the way down to the Giant Step with the gang (CO, Raw Fish and CI) as downhills are a bit rough on me still. While waiting on my own in a meadow, Clair, Allan, Jen and Suzy came running down on one of their training days.

A hike up Larch Valley with CO, Raw Fish and CI (Carbon Isotope a.k.a my sister). Beautiful day in Lake Louise where I tested my comeback at some climbing and descending. A bit sore at the end of the day but not bad. Very happy to be out.

Road Biking 1:30:00 [2]

My first outdoor ride and I loved it! It went really well and felt easier than spinning indoors. Even the hills were fine. I rode up the curling club hill without pain. I took it easy and made sure I was spinning easily all the way up :). Feels like a huge step forward. Maybe if I'm not too negatively affected by my treatment sessions I can ride to and from the hospital. It's only 8km.

My sister came with me on the ride today. I set her up on my sweet Madone. She has wanted to try road biking for a while to see if she might buy a bike. I put some flat pedals on so that she could just focus on the biking. A top end bike looks really odd with flat pedals. She did great and had a really good time. She was shifting well and her balance seemed quite good for a beginner. I think she can get hooked. Now we just have a brother and mother to convert into cyclists in the Jarlehag clan.

Spinning 50:00 [2]

Oh, yes!!!!!! Finally back on my bike!!! What an awesome feeling. I even worked up a little sweat. Stayed in E2 and simply just focused on consistency and positioning so that I wouldn't hurt. Not bad for 6 weeks post-op! Yay, it made my day!
