Climbing (Indoor) 50:00 [3]

Climbed many routes today, including one 5.10a (only needed one "take" when my hands got totally tired, and a second "take" as I whacked my head on a hold. I kept to the same rocks though and didn't adjust to something advantageous). Fun times. Slice showed up towards the end and climbed a couple of routes with CO.

Running (Trail) 1:15:55 [3] 10.7 km (7:06 / km) +305m 6:13 / km
shoes: Spikecross

A very nice base run on the trails behind our house with Simon and CO. It was the perfect pace to practice technique and the climbs felt much easier than in previous rund (partially because of the slower pace but also because I was able to drive with my knees). Still a bit cold out but I ended up de-layering to just my base layer after the first climb.

Climbing 45:00 [2]

A great session at the gym with Chantale. Climbed a couple of tricky 5.9s with a few overhangs. This sport is really good for my hands and forearms.
8 PM

Hockey 1:15:00 [3]

A really fun skate with the Banff rec girls. We started off playing 3 on 3 as we were short on players but eventually a couple of more girls showed up and we were able to play 4 on 4. Kind of fun to get so much ice time, but I was pretty tired by the end.

Cross Country Skiing (Classic) 1:40:00 [2]

A late day loop at Pocaterra. My feet got very cold and uncomfortable right off the start so it was challenging to enjoy the ski, but nice to be out for a workout.

Friday Dec 26, 2014 #

Note

Bummer, this hockey thing just isn't working out for me this year and I was so exited to play after my early season hockey clinics. I drove down to the rec center to see if the women's shinny was on, but I guess it wasn't on because of the holiday. I'll try again next Friday.

Note

Strike #2: Drove down to the rec center again. This time for the co-ed shinny, but only three people showed up. Perhaps everyone is hungover or maybe they are out shopping for good deals.

I'll have to try again.

Cross Country Skiing (Classic) 2:00:00 [3]

New snow and freshly groomed trails in LLthis morning. Skied Moraine Lake Road and the Fairview trail. This time a little further than the last time. I did a bunch of back and fourth as Chantale is just learning to ski. She did quite well.

Cross Country Skiing (Skate) 40:00 [3]

A little practice session at CNC. I did a few drills in the tracks to start followed by a bunch of climbing and a little cruise on the Banff Trail. I felt a bit off balance and felt like I was working harder than necessary.

Cross Country Skiing 3:00:00 [3]

Skate lessons today. Much, much better instructor who gave more feedback. The weather also improved to nicer conditions. Way too long of a drive though, especially when you have to work the following morning.

Classic ski at Silverstar. I didn't get much out of the instructions, but had some great skiing despite the mild weather. Hoping for more advice today.

Running (Snowy Trail) 1:00:00 [3]

Mile's annual glögg run! Half of Canmore showed up for this one and most of them women! We ran a shorter version of the Montane loop in the moonlight and finished with a very nice gathering at Mile's place for home made glögg and goodies. A great scocial evening.
