Running hills 1:05:00 [4]
ahr:160 max:204 shoes:

Started with a 30 minute jog and warmup. Felt pretty crappy since my breakfast was sitting heavy, but as the run went on I started feeling better. Did 5 hill repeats by the curling club. Up the hill and then looped back on the path and down the stairs. Ran in to a co-worker who yelled out on my third lap that I was making her feel guilty sitting on her butt drinking ice coffee.

Mountain Biking 2:15:00 [3] +700m

Mike and I rode Moosepackers today. We climbed really steadily and I managed to ride every single uphill section (one of which I always used to spin out on). My new bike sure climbs nicely. I finally figured out how to shift my weight around on the bike to make it climb really well. The downhill was amazing too. I kept catching Mike on the rough sections. It seems like my suspension soaks the stuff up a little better than the Spark. Great training ride; the climbing and the technical down hilling. The weird thing is that the last few weeks of training I've been feeling that it's hard to breathe, kind of like something is tuck in my chest and not enough air gets in. I'll have to check with my Dr next time I see her. Tomorrow we'll do some hill repeats and a run or maybe a shorter scramble. Hopefully that will make us good to go next weekend :)

Commuting

Mountain Biking 1:15:00 [3]

Commute. Today was awesome. No cars on the road in the morning so I could fly all the way down there, and after work I could stick to pathways all the way to the reservoir for our paddle. I recover really well after the climbs now so hopefully I'll be ready for RTR next week!

Paddle 1:15:00 [3]

Around the reservoir a lap and a bit. Faster paddle pace tonight than last week - starting to get comfortable at this pace which is good. A bit windy but that was just good for the workout.

Mountain Biking 1:50:00 [3]

Good workout to and from work. Did a few intervals along the way. Quite a different feeling on my commuter than on my "real" bikes. I was pretty tired at my desk all morning :)

Running hills 1:00:00 [4]
shoes:

25 minutes of a fast pace run, followed by four hill repeats by the curling club. The first repeat felt really heavy but the others felt better. It's good to star a feeling a little bit faster. I tried the XT wings for the first time. They feel nice, especially on the dirt. I'll wear them to RTR to see what they are like in the bush too.
