What a fun day in the Kananaskis! We met up with Nicki, Angela, Carbon's Offset and Maz and did a bit of a tour in the area around Prairie and Moose. Hiked up Prairie Mountain and ran down, ran the Elbow trail across to Moose Mountain road and ran up to the end of the Moose Mountain road, ran back down and back across parts of the Elbow and we finished off with a couple of km on the road. It was super nice to be out and I learned that perhaps I can do this trail running thing, especially when there is some speed walling/hiking thrown in. We would walk the longer and steeper climbs and run some smaller ones. Running downhill is certainly a skill. I fell behind Nicki and Angela who both took off so gracefully. It was a bit rough without crampons today. On the icy spots and even in some of the snow they would have been useful. Nicki has a pair of the really nice ones (Kahula or something along those lines). I will definitely be picking some of those up. Down Moose Mt road and also on the Elbow trail I wiped out, but nothing bad. Oh, and I need to figure out how to eat better when running. I bonked a bit at the end. And one more "oh" - I didn't hurt anywhere after the run! Thanks Nicki and gang for a fun day!

Time trial night. Didn't feel that great all day but my workout went well and I increased my watts by 4w since January. It's kind of weird that I'm setting good watts because I din't feel that strong on the bike right now.

I had another really good workout tonight. Ran home from work and now that all the snow is gone (leaving a bunch of mud), I found that I can run on trails pretty much all the way home. There were a few short sections where I had to step back up on the paved pathway but nothing longer than a couple of minutes here and there. This makes my run from work way more enjoyable! I'm quite excited about this little find.

I had a bit of panic a couple of weeks back when the seam on my favorite Salomon tights came apart and I wasn't able to find the same model to replace them with, but I picked up another brand which turned out to be quite nice. They're not quite at the Salomon level, but they made me look very fast....and it's all about looks when you are trying to deceive people into thinking that you are a runner.

Good class with work in E3, E4 and MAP. I felt really good and was able to hold mid zones. Rank in to our coach Jon and had a good chat. He is now the lead of the Talisman ETS group which I think is a really positive change.
