Ran down to the running store to look for a visor. I get too warm wearing my hat. This was my first opportunity to try my new Salomon Advanced Skin pack. So all the hype was true. It really doesn't bounce - at all! I also really love all the pockets and compartments on the front and how there is nothing around your hips and belly to rub or add pressure. The only downside that I can note is that it feels warmer than my other packs. The fit is much more snug so less air flow seems to work its way through. The straps on the front are also a bit wider than on any other pack that I have which adds a bit of warmth. It's also black and I'm guessing that increases the heat a bit instead of reflecting it away. The water in the bladder is more noticeable. Since the pack is so stable, you can hear the water slosh around. It doesn't seem to have a negative effect on the feel of the pack but only a noise factor (which doesn't bother me but got the attention of people that I sneaked up on). My overall impression is that of a "wow" factor. Next weekend will test the pack for real.I won't have a chance to test it out in a long run before our event so hopefully I won't have any chafing issues.

A beautiful day on the Minnewanka trail with Carbon's O, Nicki and gang. Felt pretty good, but was a bit sleepy and clutzy. Had a bit of a spill where I went down with my shoulder on a log. I was trying to be nice to a hiker by letting him have the trail while I went off into the bush, but I made a fool of myself and tripped on something. Ater the run we stopped in Canmore to pick up my new Salomon Advanced Skin pack. Tomorrow I will give it a little try.

10 reps on the curling club hill, plus a little jog beforehand to warm up. The middle three reps were at a faster speed/higher intensity. I didn't time myself but went by feel. Higher intensity but shorter workout to start our tapering.

Headed out to Station Flats after work and ran Sulphur Spings and a quite a bit of Pnuma. The trails were in great shape. I was feeling tired and slow, especially on the way up. My avg speed was only 7.1 km/hr on th way out, but of course it was quocker on the way down. The weekend runs were still hanging around in my body so I took it easy. Beautiful and warm evening! I wore shorts and a t-shirt!
