Hike/Scramble 3:30:00 [2] 17.0 km (12:21 / km) +300m 11:21 / km
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

Decided to hike out and do a day at the hotsprings followed by sushi in Banff. The first half of the hike was cold but then it finally started to feel good. At the car it was a balmy 10C! In Banff even warmer. The hiking with a big pack was really tiring. I forgot how hard it can be. Good training for the feet!

Hike/Scramble 4:15 [3] 17.0 km (15 / km) +600m 13 / km
shoes:

From Marble Canyon up to Helmet Falls. Really nice day to hike up. It got a bit snowy just past the half way mark but not bad. Arrived at the camp ground around 5pm and it got chilly pretty fast after that. Had a nice bagged camping dinner while watching 8 white mountain goats graze up high. It got colder and colder throughout the evening so we jumped into our sleeping bags at 6:30pm.....and stayed there until 11am the following morning. We had good sleeping bags (-12C) but we got pretty cold anyway. I was wearing two long johns and a jacket and was still feeling cold. The temps likely dropped to about -15 to -20.

Mountain Biking (On Road) 45:00 [3] 17.0 km (2:39 / km)

First snow of the season. First it was just some flurries but half the way into the ride it was coming down pretty good. The ground was just wet though so no worries about slipping and sliding. It felt sad to have to bundle up so much to go biking. Riding with shell pants suck. I may get something more suitable for biking rather than riding in my rain pants.
