Note

Horse back riding at Clair's parents ranch with Clair, Clair's mom Ann, Nicki, Liza and Nicki's friend Ann. Very fun. I can see how people get addicted to this sport. Clair and her mom were so generous and taught us all kinds of things. How to brush the horse, put the saddle on, how to get on and off, how to stear etc. We got to play games such as riding slalom through poles and do barrel racing. The best part was watching Clair and her mom race at full speed. They are super good!!! And I mean really good.

Note

Amazing massage this morning. So amazing that I'm switching my training schedule around. Spin today instead of a run so that I wreck less of this soft feeling.

Yoga 25:00 [1]

Always nice a few workouts with some yoga. How come I never got addicted to this before? It really works.

Does anyone know any good exercises for strengthening the back of the neck?

Spinning 2:00:00 [3]

Another good night at the Talisman. Focused hard on keeping my shoulders relaxed.
9 PM

Weights/Strength (Running Core) 15:00 [3]

Rotated through my daily running core program. I was a bit shaky from the spin class on a few of them. My legs were pretty tired. All my planky type sets are coming along well. Too bad that these awesome exercises are so boring. They do give results but they take some mental focus to do.

Weights/Strength (Running Technique) 1:15:00 [3]

Holy crap, these sessions are hard work! Today I had some good "clicks" and some things came together nicely, but then the coach immediately threw some more stuff into the mix and I was thrown off again. Very awesome! In some of the drills I can totally start to feel why it is the most efficient way to keep your body. The moment I do it right, it feels good and fluid. It's just not always easy to get there.
5 PM

Running 45:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

More focus on my arms and body position. It was a bit hard as it was slippery out and the running was incosistent at times to avoid icy spots.
6 PM

Weights/Strength 30:00 [3]

A bunch of different stuff, including the running strength.

Weights/Strength (Running Technique) 1:15:00 [2]

Awesome session this morning. Some great drills and some very hard (for me) strengthening sets. I was sweating buckets! The ones that I particularly liked today were focused on my hips - a weakness of mine. I could barely stick the 90 second sets out to the end.
4 PM

Running (Road) 35:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

Slippery run in Crescent Heights. I continue to focuson my arms and shoulders. The shoulders felt tired and sore from the morning workout sonit was extra hard to maintain correct position.
5 PM

Weights/Strength (Running Strength) 15:00 [1]

Running strength program, column 1. Less sore in the core this week so it felt a bit easier to get through the sets.
6 PM

Yoga 25:00 [3]

With Rodney Yee. I was pretty stiff going into this one from the run yesterday as well as the workoutvthis morning, but it's amazing to see the yoga work. By the end of it I felt way better.
