Road Biking (Downhill) 1:25:00 [1] 60.0 km (1:25 / km)

On the ride down from mount Haleakala I bet we didn't pedal more than max a couple of minutes. We could literally cruise all the way back. The rain in the clouds made it hard to see and some switchbacks required us to slow down to avoid ending up in the wrong lane. It was cold. I was wearing a bunch of layers which felt strange for riding in the tropics. What an awesome day! Nice to be all out tired!

Road Biking (Uphill) 5:15:00 [4] 60.0 km (5:15 / km) +3000m 4:12 / km

Rode up to the top of mount Haleakala with Mike, James and Wakana. This was a pretty long climb which started right in town and included no flat sections. Some sections were easier than others, but it was a steady climb all the way up. I stopped on several occations (time already deducted) to wait for the gang. Wakana was a trooper! She isn't used to this length of riding, but pushed to the top. I felt done at about 8500 feet and when there was a 2 mile to the summit sign by the road I didn't feel like I had much left in the tank. The last few hundred meters to the summit were steeper to rub it in even more. We were lucky with the weather and it only rained in a few spots while riding through the clouds.

Hike/Scramble 7:00:00 [3] 30.0 km (14:00 / km) +2900m 9:26 / km
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

Hiked the Kalalau trail in and out. It's an 11 mile round trip and we turned at the 9 mile mark and then headed off trail for a bit to see if we could find a waterfall. It was a slippery bushwhack up a river. Mike, Wakana and I turned around but James kept going. Of course the waterfall was just another few minutes away. We trail ran a couple of sections. The first for about 30 minutes and the second maybe aroun 15 minutes. The rest was brisk hiking. The trail was technical in spots and very exposed in spots. One mishap and you would most likely say goodbye to everyting? One of the most beautiful trails I have hiked.

A yoga session with Wakana. Before it was quite over I fell asleep on the floor.
