Cross Country Skiing 3:00:00 [3] 35.0 km (5:09 / km)

Spent the day at the Nordic Centre with CO, Claire and Nicki. We all got started at separate times so my first lap and a half I skied alone, then I caught up with Clair and we skied one loop together. I'm still feeling a bit tired but my tailbone is finally starting to feel like it is on the mend. I have no idea what caused it and I can definitely rule out the two most common causes: child birth and trauma (I think I would have noticed if either happened). Anyway, I sand-bagged it a lot today. 6 kilos worth in fact. I wanted to make sure I could get a comfortable setup prior to the Birkie. It felt good. My first lap and a half felt especially nice and I found a steady groove that felt efficient and easy to hold. I practice a few adjustments (thanks Coach ld) and my arms didn't feel tired today. On my last loop my grip wax was wearing of quite a bit and it was a struggle to make it up some of the hills, but I was too lazy to apply more.

Spinning 1:00:00 [2]

I had some minor surgery in the morning and the anesthetic had me a bit drowsy and tired for the rest of the day, and my friggin' tail bone was still killing me so when things started feeling miserable on the bike I called it a night and cut the workout short. I only managed to work up to E2 so only got a bit of endurance out of it anyway.

How is it that you can blabber away like mad and not have any recollection of it at all?! Happens every time I'm being woken up after surgery. Sheeesh, I wish I could figure out a way to make myself stop that.

Weights/Strength (Running Technique) 1:15:00 [3]

Such an awesome session today. Got to do many new things and actually did okay on some of them on the first try. One of the new drills added was running on the treadmill at the steepest incline and 5.5 miles/hr. The goal here is to be able to do this for 6 minutes while holding the body in a good position. Yeah, that will be a while :). I managed almost 90 seconds before my form fell apart an my tail bone forced me to stop and take a break. Then I did 30 seconds more. The last time back my form clicked more and I managed to feel less tired by the work. That is a good sign (to notice that the form helps it feel easier). Now after the session my tail-bone feels better. Also nice to find that some pushup drills went better than expected. I'm still no super star here but seeing improvements is encouraging. And as always, I love doing the work that absolutely kills my hips. One day they will be stronger and make me run with less wear and tear!

Running (Trail) 1:15:00 [3]

Went out to West Bragg for an evening run. Super nice evening and the trails were still in great running shape. The only downside was that my butt/tail bone was still hurting and I had to walk many of the steeper up hill sections that I would normally run on the way to the top. Also took it easier on the way down. Ran with the Betty light which was cool, but it was a bit bouncy on the head strap. I guess because it's got some weight to it.

Weights/Strength (Running Technique) 1:15:00 [2]

Today felt really rough from all the activity on the weekend. On top of that I have managed to bruise my tail bone somehow. It was a bugger to do some of the exercises. Llew must have realized that I was a bit off, because he was being way gentle on me. I bet I will have to make it up n Wednesday :)
