Backcountry Skiing 6:30:00 [3] +2000m

Another super fun day. We saw a bit of everything from hard wind crusts all the way to fluffy powder. Had to boot pack a couple of times. Once up an increadibly hard surface in howling winds. Alex (the guide) had to shovel out little foot steps in order for us to get up. Finished the day with a fantastic run back to the lodge - deep powder, steep and full of fun.

Total ski day: 7hrs 40min, but I deducted some for breaks and transitions.

Forgot my camera in the hut, but will bring it out tomorrow.

Spinning 2:10:00 [3]

Fun class tonight. Huge improvement from last week as my tail bone is recovered and there was no surgery drowsiness to distract me. In love strength endurance sets and tonight we had a bunch of it.

Weights/Strength (Running Technique) 1:15:00 [3]

Rippin' session this morning! The session ended with me running on an incline of 15 at 5.5mi/hr with a weigh vest on. I only lasted 1 minute before needing a break. Then I completed another 30 seconds. I think I would be able to hold it a bit longer if I wasn't already tired. The goal with the vest is 6 minutes. Apparently after that he will put me in a harness and pull on me.

Awesome fun! I want more!

Running 50:00 [3] 7.56 km (6:37 / km)
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

I was dying to run this evening just so that I could practice some stuff from this morning. I chose to run on the treadmill so that I could keep a consistant speed for the whole run. Acheived what I set out to do. Good stuff.

Running (Trail) 1:03:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

Douglas Fir from the Pump House. First run where my tail bone didn't hurt since I injured it. Felt a bit tired on the way out, but felt great on the way back. Felt like I could have kept going. I forgot my headlamp and ran back in the dark.

Weights/Strength (Running Technique) 1:15:00 [3]

A great morning of working out. I'm starting to feel stronger in many of the sets and even the pull-ups (a type where you jump into it a little to get going) are starting to come along. Oh, and I skipped rope for the first time since I was about 12!

Running (Treadmill) 45:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon Speedcross 3

Warmed up on the indoor track for 5 minutes, then did following run on the treadmill:
10 min E2
4 minutes of highest incline at 5.5mi/hr
30 seconds easy jog
3 minutes of highest incline at 5.5mi/hr
30 seconds easy jog
2 minutes of highest incline at 5.5mi/hr
25 min E2

I'm building up towards 6 minutes of this run. The 4 min set was hard. I just managed to pull it off. I was a bit worried that I would fall of the back when I was starting to get really tired. But it was still easier doing this fresh for 4 minutes rather than 2 minutes towards the end of one of my sessions with Llew.

Usual homework.
