The nice trail conditions were short lived. Perhaps we should have gone back to the Banff area as I heard they received less snow than Canmore. The plan had been to scramble Lady Mac D after a 1hr run but we discovered that there was plenty of snow on the benchlands and I decided to just run instead. Many up and downs on this trail. Took it a bit too slow and easy on the way out but picked up and had a steady good run on the way back. Spent a bit of time looking for the trail in a few spots as the snow made it hard to find. I had a bit of a break through, finally, on the drinking front. I have had trouble getting enough fluid into me on my runs as it seems like every time I drink my stomach starts hurting and even stitching. I was starting to suspect that maybe sucking in the water from a hose contributes so today I tried a little Salomon drinking bag (kind of like a bottle only made like a bag so it fits perfectly in my pack's front pocket). It was awesome. I drank 500ml of water and carbopro with no issues. It might be the way to go for me. Will continue to test it out. I'm also noticing that my uphill running is coming along nicely. I make it up hills with less perceived effort now. Seems to be all about Llews uphill bounding strides ( don't fight the hill, as he puts it).
