Hike/Scramble 2:00:00 [2] 7.4 km (16:13 / km) +725m 10:53 / km
shoes: Speed Cross (gray)

Hiked up to Bourgeau Lake outside Banff with CO. Nice and steady on the way up. Had a lunch snack in the meadow just before the lake. A fair amount of snow up there and the lake had started to freeze. Mike wanted to go for a swim but I held him back.

Running (Trail) 1:00:00 [3] 7.4 km (8:06 / km)
shoes: Speed Cross (gray)

Yay, my first run since my July surgery!!!! I can't bragg much about it since it was all downhill, but my pack was heavy and the top was a bit tricky with the snow so it still felt like work. It felt soooo good to be running. I kind of just wanted to test how it felt and once I got going, I couldn't stop. We ran all the way out from the lake. I had to slow down on the steepest sections as any harder bouncing hurt a bit, but in general it felt pretty good. I think I will try to incorporate some running into my weeks now.

Note

Wouldn't it be awesome if we had an adventure race just for women and it was as well attended as this?! http://www.sleepmonsters.com/v2_races.php?article_... STORM, perhaps you can take on the challenge? I would fly out and race.

Spinning 1:30:00 [3]

What an incredibly fun night. I'm back with the Thursday spin gang. While they time trialed, I amused myself in E2. I don't have much umphf, but I still got quite tired and the social was awesome.

My April 2013 20 min TT avg watts were 235, or 4.1 w/kg. That was a PB for me. Not sure what I should aim for in the December TT since I can only ride low end E2 right now. Maybe 200? I'll have to wait and see how the fall season goes.

Hike/Scramble 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Speed Cross (gray)

Five walking repeats of the curling club stairs. Took it slow and steady. Then I got a bonus repeat of the stairs walking home from Mike's office in the afternoon. When I keep the speed slow I'm okay, but once my HR goes up and breathing gets quicker, my chest and digestive systems hurts.

Road Biking 45:00 [3]

Super windy on the way out, but a heck of a ride on the way back. HR felt high for what I was doing. I think I'll start wearing a HR monitor for a while just out of interest.
