Hockey (Clinic) 1:00:00 [3]
First night of a series of hockey clinics. This set of sessions is focused on skating (65%) and some stick handling (35%). The group is co-ed with a mix of abilities from total beginner all the way through to people who used to be really good but have been away from it for a while. There were 5 coaches and this is where it got really good. On each drill you had instant feedback so that you could correct yourself for the next attempt.
We ran through a bunch of fundamental skating drills where body positioning was so similar to the work that we do with Llew that I had to smile. Everything from the low stand, butt down and chest tall all the way to the arm swing :).
I can't even remember all the drills we did, but I figure nobody on AP would be interested anyway so no need to list them out :)
Tomorrow night I start the specialty clinic which is focused on stick handling, shooting, passing etc. Should be fun.
