The latest reports suggested that there was a temporary bridge put up at Dawson Creek, making the river passable, so we headed out to explore the Jumpingpound/Cox loop. Last year's flood and this past week's rain had messed a bit with the terrain. The south end climb was tricker than usual and the rocky section that followed was more hollowed out than usual, but other than that it wasn't bad. We had to cross three snow patches on foot, but they really looked like they may be on their last legs. We had stunning views and awesome climbing. The scariest part of the day was when we passed a guy dressed in all black, pointing a rifle in front of him!?! He looked quite intimidating and completely out of place. If there had been mobile coverage in there I would have called in to report him, just to at least have someone check it out. Maybe it was all cool and 'allowed', but I sure felt like it was kind of crazy and it kind of freaked me out!
