Backcountry Skiing 2:00:00 [3] 6.0 km (20:00 / km) +900m 11:26 / km

Moved to the island of Senja today. Went for an afternoon ski up Keipen near Botnhamn. The landscape here is more dramatic than on Lofoten. The peaks are more jagged and it makes the fjords seem deeper. The peak overlooked a nice fjord towards Husøy and we had some great steep turns on the way down. The snow got a little heavy towards the bottom but we could ski all the way down to the car.

Backcountry Skiing 2:30:00 [3] 9.0 km (16:40 / km) +1000m 10:43 / km

Today we headed for Håkvikdalen, near Narvik. The objective was a longer tour over gradual terrain up to a peak at about 1300m elevation gain, but as we got up on the first ridge the wind was blowing uncomfortably hard. We decided to turn back and lap a lower elevation slope instead. After the early return back to town, I walked around Narvik to explore the shops a little. Still no sign of cinnamon buns of the kind that is so popular in Sweden. I'll keep searching.

Strandtinden (between Lofoten and Narvik) with the gang. A blue bird day made for excellent views.

Hike/Scramble 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Speed Cross (Blue)

After a little tour down to the fishing village Å, we stopped for a hike up "whatever it was called". I felt pretty crappy, but hiked up to the snow line and turned back there while the others went up to the peak. I felt better after a fish burger so maybe it was a combo of motion sickness and lack of food.

Running 3:45:00 [3] 13.0 km (17:18 / km) +1200m 11:51 / km

Touring the Lofoten. Today we checked out Varden near Svolvaer. Little Fish, Big Fich, Revy, C-Bass, CO and Atsuko. Very grey and overcast made for flat light at times. It's mild and warm and we had to hike a little to get into the snow. Lots of other groups out in the same area.
