Sunday Dec 30

skiing (telemark) 7 [2] +6000m
3rd day of skiing. This time it was back to Telemark skiing. Incredible conditions in the Adirondaks. There was another 5 inches of fresh snow.
Got the kids skiing on solid black runs at the end of the day.
Also played a lot on some excellent mogul runs AND some exciting black diamond glades.

Saturday Dec 29

skiing (ski-0) 2:00:00 [3] 5 km (24:00 / km) +200m 20:00 / km
Shadowed Aleck on the difficult orange course at the AOK ski-o event at Saranac Lake. A small but very technical area. The skiiing was incredibly fast. Some trails were narrow and steep. Turned out to be a high quality event. Nice to see a bunch of orienteers from HVO there!
snowshoeing 1:00 [3] 6 km (10 / km)
borrowed jims competition showshoes and took off. There was about 3 feet of snow but I never went down more than 6 inches. They were light and incredibely easy to use. The crampons at the bottom made going up and down steep hills easy. I think I need to buy a pair!

Friday Dec 28

skiing (telemark skiing) 7:00:00 [2] +6000m
Telemark skiing at white face. 3 feet of snow. 25 degrees perfect conditions!
