trail run 2:10:00 [3] 8.0 mi (16:15 / mi)

Trail run from horse stables around pine meadow lake then back on Suffern to bear Mountain trail. Rusty was with me but he was having an off day. He usually pulls away from me on the uphills but this time he was just hanging back and taking his time.
I guess even poodles can have a lazy day. Even when we were heading out you could tell that he was not into leaving. I had to all by drag him out of the house.
there was lots of fresh bear poop on the trails. I usually don't give it second thought but at one point I was on an narro unmarked trail going thru a section of dense mountain laurel and there was a huge fresh pile on it. I made some noise just in case the bear was just ahead of me.
Reminds me of a time last fall when I was in a remote section of sterling forest following a very narrow trail with limited sight thru a swamp when I stepped right in a pile of super fresh bear poop! I was not a concern - instead, I was hoping he was just ahead. It was mid hunting season. Although I was going to smaller game, I did have a bear permit and I hear that bear is pretty tasty...

Watt cycle 55:00 [3]

yes I have been lees than religious about logging.
45 minute on watts bike after 5 min warmup. 196 watts average . Not bad. I was doing 174 watts two months ago.

I am doing a century ride from George Washington bridge to top of Bear Mountain and back with some friends in 1 week. The new found watts capacity will come in handy. A tri-guy with plenty of time to train will be doing it with us. He said he can do 230 watts for 30 minutes. I can keep that up for say 5 minutes. Plan is to draft off of him for as long as I can then fall back with the peloton.
