Run on the seat with Kris and Frith. Ribs are a bit better than last time but still having to run with shoulders very high and tight to prevent too much chest movement. I keep forgetting to tape my ribs like Kim advised so I'll see if that helps next time. Suffering a bit in general anyway due to my Big Cheese debut last night. Enjoyed a repeat appearance of orange VK in my mouth near the end.

Proper ride with James down south along the side of the Pentlands. Crazy windy, had a very enjoyable descent of the A702 with a big tailwind on the way back - hit 45mph at one point and maxed out my highest gear by a long way.

Felt very novice at trying to follow a wheel as it's disconcerting not being able to see anything. Also I suffer from the same thing as in running where I hate not being in the lead. Not sure I would have survived very well after 2 hours at this effort level.

First proper outing once it got light in the morning. Punctured and had to get a £20 taxi back home because I hadn't bought any inner tubes yet. I wasn't made for cycling it seems.

Fixed the puncture then got out for a couple of laps of the seat with James. Good fun, had to put some effort in on the climb when a girl overtook us and James wasn't having any of it.

Went to Decathlon and bought their cheapest road bike, which I've wanted to do for quite a long time. Couldn't resist taking it for a spin once I got back, but was very limited on daylight.

Had a go at running but it really hurts my ribs. Bouncing or side-to-side movement is bad so I was running with weird high-shoulders style. Also very painful to breathe in too deeply. Coughing and sneezing off the scale. Kim says it will be fine in time though.

At least my Garmin is still working after taking a few chunks out of it too on Saturday.
