Saturday Sep 13

orienteering 2:00:43 [4] 9.0 mi (13:24 / mi)
US Champs Day 1. 11.5k in 2:00 -> 11 min/k. Ouch! 25 minutes of mistakes or so. 3rd overall, 2nd American.
trail run 15:00 [1] 1.0 mi (14:59 / mi)
Warm-up. Road/trail/woods.

Blue - Splits

Friday Sep 12

orienteering 55:00 [2] 4.0 mi (13:45 / mi)
Model event. 5.3k in 44:00, plus warm-up. Did a few controls hard. Mostly just spent my time trying to figure out little green x's and o's.

Wednesday Sep 10

trail run 27:00 [1] 2.0 mi (13:29 / mi)
Warm-up/cool-down.
trail run 33:24 [4] 5.0 mi (6:40 / mi)
NMTC race - Zapp's loop. 2nd behind Pat Russel. Good run, moderate on the ups, fast on the downs. Good turnover on the last half of the race.

Tuesday Sep 9

trail run 1:05:00 [2] 7.0 mi (9:16 / mi)
Easy run around Chester with Jarrow. Legs felt a bit stiff at the start, but loosened up nicely. 1 round of sit-ups at home (5x20 various combinations).

rest day

Sunday Sep 7

run 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
Warm-up/cool-down.
run 1:34:47 [5] 15.51 mi (6:06 / mi)
City of Lakes 25k. Solid run (slightly better than 6 minute pace) for the first 14.5 miles. Stomach cramp in the last mile brought me to a standstill (11 minutes for the last 1.5 miles = ouch!).
orienteering 1:10:00 [3] 7.5 km (9:20 / km)
Orienteering race at Hyland. Ran a moderate pace in 1:10 (3rd place). Due to a mix-up (I started late), many of the controls had been removed so my concentration was far from ideal. Woods were pretty thick with lots of trail running.
