Friday Aug 18 #

roller ski 1:50:00 [3] 20.0 km (5:30 / km)

LH Team camp in Rossland. Skate roller ski from Lion's campground to Nancy Green Summit (650 m total climb). Fairly warm, but not too hot. Not much smoke either! Nice to get in for a swim in Nancy Green Lake afterward.

shoes: speedcross16

Ski-striding on Red Mountain (450 m climb). Did a ladder progressing from z3 to z4 (8 min down to 1 min). Nice views from the summit.

Wednesday Aug 16 #

bike 1:30:00 [3] 11.0 km (8:11 / km)
shoes: shimano16

Easy ride with A,R,T + Hepburns. Less smoky, so nice to get out.

Tuesday Aug 15 #

run 1:00:00 [3] 8.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: speedcross15

Ski practice at LH. Easy run, sort of around the Reino route but more snowshoe trails than the race course.

Monday Aug 14 #

bike 1:35:00 [3] 21.0 km (4:31 / km)
shoes: shimano16

Evening ride, S Canoe from home. Nice riding.

Tried going 1x9, using middle chain ring only. Gear range ... Low = 32/34 = 0.94, High = 32/11 = 2.91. Low definitely isn't low enough, high is plenty high. Pondering the idea of switching to 1x10, with a 11-36 cassette on back. With a 28 on the front, I could go from a Low = 28/36 = 0.78 to a High = 2.55. Alternatively, with an 11-42 cassette, I could probably use a 30 tooth front ring. Hmmm...
