roller ski 2:00:00 [3] 19.0 km (6:19 / km)

Ski practice. Classic roller ski up Silver Star, from BX Elementary. Great ski, lots of diagonal stride. Used an older pair of Salomon Profil classic boots, were Ok. Right foot was a bit uncomfortable near the end of the ski. Need to switch over my binding so I can use some better boots.

bike 20:00 [3] 5.0 km (4:00 / km)

Out and back to check on the kids coming up the hill at the end of the roller ski.

Saturday Sep 9 #

run 40:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: speedcross16

Ski practice. Sprints, striding intervals, some spenst, adventure running and ocr all rolled into one practice. Good fun.

roller ski 35:00 [3] 7.0 km (5:00 / km)

Classic roller skiing on Auto Rd and Industrial Park. Did some video review and sprints. A bit smoky so kept the intensity down.

orienteering 34:00 [3] 2.5 km (13:36 / km)
shoes: inov8-17

Fall series event at Silver Slope. Really hilly terrain (175 m climb listed). Nice forest map, at 1:4000 ISSOM. Nice to have a map of a new area to run on. Quite small, but still fun.

orienteering 40:00 [3] 3.5 km (11:26 / km)
shoes: inov8-17

Picking up controls. Had that dreaded experience where you get back to the car and realize there's one control still out in the woods that you forgot to pick up. Dohh! Fortunately it wasn't too far away. Got dark near the end of picking up the controls ... good to have the headlamp.

Wednesday Sep 6 #

run 1:01:00 [3] 13.0 km (4:42 / km)
shoes: nb16

Run out Auto Rd and through the industrial park. Trying to gauge how much traffic there is. Seemed Ok, i.e., Ok enough for a ski practice out there tomorrow. Nice run at a decent clip.

Tuesday Sep 5 #

roller ski 1:00:00 [3] 13.0 km (4:37 / km)

Skate roller skiing at S Canoe. Mostly working on technique (video review) during the practice. But, got out for a bit of a ski at the end on my own.

Monday Sep 4 #

paddle 1:30:00 [3] 10.0 km (9:00 / km)

Afternoon paddle on Shuswap Lake with Abbi. Started just east of Canoe. The access wasn't the easiest, but allowed us to see some different lakeshore than normal. Paddled by Nipple Beach on a hot sunny day. Apparently, we actually do have a nude beach in sleepy little Salmon Arm!
