Cycle - MTB race (Simonsberg Contour day 2) 2:59:06 [3] 41.1 km (13.8 kph) +1150m
ahr:155 max:172 shoes: MTB - Camber Comp

Really enjoyed the route, plenty of single track both up and down and plenty climb in general. Organisers started us 15 min later which was probably a good call as had very minor holdups on single track and with so much that meant a really lekker ride. It did also mean I had to make sure I hauled A#$% to make sure I made it to airport on time, which I did by heading straight home (no burger and beer :-() Glad they put a map up before the start, thats responsive organisation.

Looking forward to the return of that 10% of VO2 max... :-)

Cycle - MTB race (Simonsberg Contour ) 2:46:16 [3] 43.5 km (15.7 kph) +950m
ahr:160 max:180 shoes: MTB - Camber Comp

Love Murants routes. Well organised with bike wash and burger and beer after. Only gripe is not bothering to publish a route map and then getting the distance pretty wrong. So without the map had no idea if I had made a wrong turn once had passed the advertised distance of 39km. As usual the announcer laughed it off as extra training for free, fine no issue today but if they do that tomorrow I'm gonna be at airport late...Anyway lekker route, advertised at over 1000m climb but Garmin (known not to be great on alt gave far less). Got stuck behind some more tentative riders on tech stuff again so tomorrow might need to start faster as more single track though really not keen to go out quick. Glad I made last minute call to ride.

See now that blood donation has marked impact on VO2 max (10% lower in one study a week later) oops... then even more chuffed with today and more worried about a possible 2 oceans and more nb, a qualifier in 2 weeks. Already done though so best forgotten.

Road Run 54:45 [3] 8.4 km (6:31 / km) +110m 6:07 / km
ahr:151 max:184 shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 14 Blue

Run home from work with extra loop to collect running license up by G-Spot, so nice climb. was finished, so put some walking in, perhaps due to zero to hero training and also donated blood today.

Put in a sprint towards the end to improve my segment by the primary school but think my 3 sec logging went funny as I timed it at 36sec but once logged it came out at 45 so will need to redo to get ahead of a certain Ms Rabi's time, currently just ahead of Mr Greyling. (bit of fun on the side).

That pair of shoes for some reason doesnt work, hot spots under foot, probably moving around. Ordered some zero drop Altra's, like the shape.

warmup to base of Bitterbult and then 6 reps. Surprised I managed it. A lot of "character building" runs these days, but looks like getting somewhere...
