Orienteering (Sprint, road) 36:38 [4]

Ulverston night event.
Very poor flow. Lots of small errors like misreading which dead-end to take, which side of a wall to be and a couple of longer route choices that should have been obvious with a bit of reading ahead.
Felt agrieved to find a locked gate on one leg that wasn't marked.
I didn't deserve to win. I didn't.
26 seconds behind Rob Browne.

Climbing (Bouldering) 25:30 [1]

Claire, Luke and Sarah in attendance with Wil & Lucy coming up after some routes. Luke has surpassed us and now does whites, blacks and greens!
After some easy warm-up problems I willed myself up blue and yellow (complete with spinning pocket hold) cave problems next to the entrance. More guts this time...
There were some new yellow problems in the biggest cave. On the left I was pretty happy with my underclinging to get out onto the more vertical section but then plopped off a few times. The girls were ok on that bit but found the start hard. On the right side I only took two attempts. It felt like I managed more through technique than reach for once too!
Almost, almost, started the Thundercats problem next to the roof climb. Almost! Grip improving.
Enjoyed new problems in the green room whilst tired. I should not have done some campussing before the end! Felt quite accomplished to be able to pull up on two slopers on a pink. Pinks were usually too hard to bother with 6 months ago.
A new Lucy joined us + Helen & Paul for pizza. Kendal seems to attract people with matching interests and first names!
