orienteering 1:00:33 [5] 5.0 mi (12:07 / mi)

Great red course out at Afton today. NOBODY had a clean run, so hats off to Andrei for a tough course!

I had trouble from 2-3, after finding an unmarked trail that I thought was too prominent to be unmapped. The rest of the run went well with just two additional one minute errors. Unfortunately my three minute error on the way to CP3 was the different between first and second. Great fun though, Afton has awesome terrain and I always leave with a smile on my face. I'm a mountain man at heart and the hills and views are as good as we've got.

Thanks Andrei.

Running 14:00 [2]

Cycling 1:45:00 [3] 22.0 mi (12.6 mph)

Riding into the city to see R-Odgers off to Alaska for the summer. A nice quiet night ride, and some tasty wheat beer at the new Harriet Brewery.

Cycling 55:00 [3] 6.1 mi (6.7 mph)

Rode the fatty on the River Bottoms. Not a great ride as the snow was heavy and very slippery. My HuskerDu's were not up the the challenge. Needed some Surly Nate's with about 6 psi. Good sweat though.

Running 36:41 [4] 5.06 mi (7:15 / mi)

Quick lap around Calhoun from GJ headquarters. Meet up to design new jerseys, good times!

Cycling 1:10:00 [4]

Spin class, could not really get it going tonight. Likely because of the run earlier today. Worked as hard as I could on the hard efforts, but really had to coast during the recovery phases. Averaged 173 watts. Glad I went despite having an off night.

Note

Kelly just finished the Boston Marathon. She ran extremely fast all the way through 35k but did not have the endurance in the legs to finish strong. She feels like her training lacked some of the longer distance stuff to get the last miles in place the way she wanted them to be.

Regardless, it was very fun to watch her run toe to toe with some of the best women in the world today. Hats off to her for a brilliant effort. It was fun for me to be a part of the race. I was was able to volunteer all morning setting up, and really enjoyed being a part of the great race.
