Note

Today I was named to the MTB-O national team for O-USA. Three men and three women have been selected.

I'm super excited to represent the US at world in Estonia this fall, from August 24th to the 31st, with the possibility to attending the training camp beforehand if funds allow. A firm beating awaits me.

Time to start riding like Kelly runs, except not nearly that hardcore because nobody can beast mode like Kelly beast modes.

Regardless, I am excited to train and see where I can get.

Thanks to Greg Lennon and O-USA for the opportunity!

Cycling 2:44:39 [3] 39.6 mi (14.4 mph)

Went out for a spin in the gorgeous weather, to recover, but ended up getting a bit carried away. Probably not bad considering the 6 inches of snow we are supposed to get tonight! Headed down to the GearJunkie office to say hi to them, and happily saw them hanging out in the office. Rode home the long way.

Event: AR Tune Up

Adventure Race 4:45:00 [4] 40.0 mi (7:07 / mi)

The MNOC AR tune-up!

We were fried from the BooneCrusher, but who skips the tune-up? Nobody in their right mind.

Kelly and I started quickly out of the gun and it hurt, but once we were in the swing of things, it didn't feel too bad. We did the first two trek and the paddles quickly, but after the third trek, we were getting pretty fried.

Kelly was not really feeling the hard effort and could feel the impending days of recovery coming--something that is not good for her goals of racing fast in Green Bay and at Dam to Dam. So we scaled it back and agree to just have fun from there.

We hung out and chatted for the rest of the way. Possibly missed a few checkpoints near the end of the race, it was rumored. That's ok, a huge weekend of racing and fun.

Thanks to Mike for a great event once again, and for 10 years or more of great Adventure Racing in MN! Awesome. Mike made a great AR godfather and I certainly feel lucky we have him in the community.
