CCW, ahead of The Dim, just a few of everybody's favorite bugs* out at the end. Felt pretty good through to the end. Not really muddy anywhere, just a bit soft in a few places, and Old City Road was mercifully dry (though the footing was still terrible). Either there's a fair bit of MTB traffic here on the weekends, or somebody raked these trails, becausenow they're really easy to follow. This appears to be a PR in terms of time, though not in terms of pace, because other times the GPS distance came out longer. Not clear why. There was a bit at the beginning when I think there was an alternate trail routing, but I don't think it made a difference in terms of length.
If we manage to get the permission issues straightened out and get a map of this place, I need to remember to hold a meet here some year the last weekend in June, because the laurel is so beautiful. Actually, Townsend State Forest is probably about the same, and we have a map there. I wonder is this is a particularly auspicious year.
