running (trails) 40:57 [4] 7.2 km (5:41 / km)

Willard Brook SE, shortly before dark. It seems like this is an unexpectedly fast time, I must have been pissed off or something. Numerous ankle rolls and at least one stumble, no harm done.

AOWN: I heard some crashing noises in the woods off to my right just around the time I was making the final turn, sounded like it was probably some large animal, but I don't know what (moose? bear?). Also, when I arrived and parked the car, there was another car parked there as well, so thought somebody else might be out there for a hike, but as I left I got a glimpse of somebody (at least one person, more likely two) in the back seat...

running (woods) 45:58 [2] 7.56 km (6:05 / km)
shoes: GoLite SunDragon

Mystery Blazes loop, at about 7 PM, when it had at least dropped below 90 F. I figured I could just take it easy, and this is at least a cool and shady place. Water levels have dropped quite a bit in the past week. Time is not so bad considering that I was intentionally throttling back so I wouldn't make myself feel sick. I wore shorts, which is unusual for me when running in the woods.

Note

No exercise associated with today's hang gliding outing, but I had the unfortunate opportunity to watch a friend launch while not hooked to his glider. I was in the air at the time (he was alone on launch, last to fly), and I may have been the only person watching, though others noticed soon enough. At the time, I did not understand the reason why he dived into the trees beyond the end of the ramp. Although this error is often fatal, he survived and does not appear to be seriously injured (when I left, he was insisting that he did not need to go to the hospital to get checked out, despite the urging of a family member and the other pilots, even though he said that he "blew out a leg muscle").
