hiking 14:00 [3] 0.8 km (17:30 / km) +100m 10:46 / km
shoes: Nike Initiator

Dragging my hang gliding gear up the Heublein Tower trail to the launch (using a cart).

hiking 16:00 [3] 1.5 km (10:40 / km) +80m 8:25 / km
shoes: Nike Initiator

Jogging up from the helipad, then back down to the car with my cart and Kermit's cart. In between, I got about 40 minutes of airtime, so definitely more than the hiking.

orienteering race (night-O) 36:41 [3] ** 3.4 km (10:47 / km)
spiked:11/15c shoes: Nike Initiator

Night park-O at Aims's 60th birthday party. I did the "ultra" option of going to them all in order. Fairly sloppy, the small trails were hard to see on the ground, but I made plenty of other mistakes. My new headlamp is not adequate for high-speed night-O on its own, I need something else to illuminate the map.

orienteering (vetting) 44:15 [2] *** 4.1 km (10:48 / km) +11m 10:39 / km
10c shoes: GoLite Blaze Lite

Control wakeup at Townsend. After I did the first four, the next three appeared to be dead, so I swung back by the start, where Ed said that the stick I was using was full -- he cleared it, and the other three were fine. I dragged out my old Active Ankle to keep myself from doing further damage, but it was strangely uncomfortable.

Control pickup, a different batch. About halfway through, I stopped and turned the Active Ankle around so it was facing the opposite way, and that felt a lot better. Seemed counterintuitive, but as long as it works, I don't care. I think there used to be a sticker indicating which way it's supposed to go, but that fell off a long time ago. I managed one entertaining minor screwup, where I apparently crossed a large trail without seeing it under the fallen leaves. Looks like I spent alomst exactly the same amount of time as I did yesterday afternoon.
