I had a meeting at 6:30, which meant that I had enough time after work for a little something, so I threw the wheel in the back of the car and headed down to check out a rail trail that I wasn't familiar with. The
particular section I was on wasn't all that appealing; rather urban, and half of it was more like a sidewalk. Might be worth going back and trying the part on the other side of downtown.
I've been riding bicycles (and unicycles) for a lot of years, and I grew up in a very bicycle-oriented home. But in all that time, I've never owned any shorts that were designed for that purpose. I rode from Connecticut to California in 1983 wearing cutoff jeans. But on the way back from Sessions on Sunday, Nancy and I happened on a store that was having a big sale, and I picked up a pair of shorts. I also ride on rather dated equipment most of the time, but it does the job. I guess I'm rather in contrast to the kind of guy who I saw today, all dressed up in fancy bike clothes with sponsor logos and cool glasses and a fancy racing bike, getting ready to... ride on the rail trail. With the joggers and walkers and training wheel kids and unicyclists...
