Hiking my gear in at Ascutney, the usual double trip. People were pairing up for this to share the loads, but we had an odd number of pilots in the parking lot, and as I took off early for my first trip out with my harness, I was one who got left out. But I did get help for the last bit, as Jeff Burnett was on his way back to get his harness and offered a hand.

I had my GPS watch running for this, so I left the track in. I have another GPS track that includes altitude, this one just shows my ground track, and the "altitude" it shows is the height of the ground I was flying over. Where the speed is wildly swinging back and forth (like from 36 to 42 minutes), that's where I was circling in lift, but also drifting downwind. The interesting part of this is that it was a PR for the farthest I've flown from where I launched (I'm not generally much of a XC pilot).

One last (I hope) trip out to Gunstock to adjust the positions of a few controls after discussions with the vetters. Temperature better than on my previous trips, still mosquitoes in a couple of spots.

I figured I ought to climb this mountain at least once. Wonderful view from the top.

And then a jog from the summit to the bottom of the pano lift, via the dirt road that would be the most likely route if you were to try to drive up.

WBSW, racing sluggishly against The Dim. I think this was important for my mental health. There will come a day when I go out there and run the loop that I have in mind, but today wasn't the day. It was close, though, the only difference being that I took the alternate trail up the hill at the south end. Just as well, as I hadn't been on that trail in quite some time.
