Plitvička Lakes, with Nancy. Getting in was a little confusing because we had timed entry tickets, and never did find any place to scan them for entry, as we asked some ranger folks for directions and ended up on the inside without going through a gate. Whatever. They did scan them when we boarded for the longer of two boat rides. Fairly interesting variety of stuff here, and the surrounding terrain looks to be a forest densely packed with sinkholes several contours deep. I think this was a reasonable time to visit, but during the peak season it would be miserable (or maybe they restrict the ticket sales enough to keep the crowds reasonable, but since we've already established that there's a way in without a ticket...). I did a pretty good job of pausing my watch when we were sitting down.

Štrbački Buk, with Nancy, more waterfalls. We didn't see any rafters, maybe because the water flow was too high (higher than in the videos we see on YouTube).

A standard loop in Rastoke with Nancy to see the waterfalls where the Slunjčica meets the Korana.

A little wandering with Nancy around Kulen Vakuf, the sort of town where dogs sleep in the middle of the street. The things you notice after crossing into Bosnia are 1) the steeples are now minarets 2) the signs are bi-alphabetic (Latin and Cyrillic) and 3) there seem to be an awful lot of gas stations.

Started the watch late, and then forgot to stop it when we sat down at a restaurant, so I knocked off the time and just left the track as a marker for where we are.

Walking around Zagreb with Nancy. Time includes touring the Museum of Broken Relationships, and a ride down the world's shortest funicular, among other things. We managed to be right in front of the bell tower when the noon cannon was fired (along with dozens of other tourists). Ended this track when we got to the Nikola Tesla museum.

hiking (pavement) 58:18 [1] 2.37 km (24:34 / km) +17m 23:43 / km

Back to our accomodations via a stop for ice cream, and a visit to the supermarket.

Left knee is now clicking in an additional way. Not painful, but concerning.

Samobor Hrvatska. The travel went without a hitch, Nancy met me at the Zagreb airport, and we headed off to this town for lunch. After lunch, we hiked up to the ruined castle above town, poked around there for a bit, then headed back to the car.

No exercise expected today, just spent the morning finishing packing and now I'm on a train heading for Logan airport.

Tanner-Hiller, first aerotow of the season. I was the first one up for the day, and there was a lot of cloud cover and not much happening in terms of lift, although at the end the clouds were clearing out and the sun was heating the ground and I could tell that it was going to turn on, and it did -- Woz was the next one up and he got a good flight with climbs up to 5400 feet. Just as well in my case, because I needed to get home with time to get ready to leave tomorrow.

hiking (mixed) 9:00 [1] 1.0 km (9:00 / km) +14m 8:25 / km

Back and forth at T-H, I actually did this three times but only had the watch turned on once, so I adjusted the time and distance.
