Roehampton park race
Really nice sprint style race which plunged you into tricky legs and didn't give much respite. Enjoyed it a lot but didn't have the legs to really push. One mistake where I got turned round and had the map 180 degrees off, but corrected reasonably quickly.

Road running warm up/down 5:00 [1] 0.8 km (6:15 / km)

Cycling race 4:23:00 [5] 100.2 km (22.9 kph) +2140m

Etape Pennines, 159th out of ~2,000
Very hard, wasn't really ready for it to be quite that tough to be honest. Not exactly a 'catered training ride' as I had thought it might be!
It was very much a course for climbers: lots of climbs linked together by some very fast descents. There were some really tough ones as well. A common pattern was a fast descent followed by sharp corner into 10-20% hill. The steepest of these was also quite slick and nearly everyone I saw had to walk.
There was a KOM stretch, a nice touch. I did 10:30 to the winner's 8:30 or so for 70th place. That matches up with how I was doing generally: pretty good on the climbs but nowhere near as powerful as most people when the terrain was more rolling. I rode with the 3rd/4th/5th place lady for a while, and I would drop her as long as the climb was steep enough or long enough, but once it was close to flat I could only hold her wheel.
One thing I really enjoyed was the longer steady climbs. Maybe it would be fun to see how I get on over some serious hills...

Low force to high force and back. Can't be many nicer out & back runs in the country.

Cycling 46:00 [1] 10.56 mi (13.8 mph)

Too early really, bad traffic although partly caused by a crash in Beckenham that had backed cars all the way up crystal palace hill

Morden park race
Steady run. Wished I'd gone round a couple of times as the long grass was tough work. Fairly sure I missed a couple of gates, found them v hard to pick out.

Road running warm up/down 20:00 [1] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)
