Swim (Nova-WAC-Stroke) 1:30:00 [3] 3.2 km (28:07 / km)

Coach Kim (PanPac today in LB) and stroke was butterfly. Yikes! We did loads of the upside down fly kick w/ buoy and fins for most of the practice. HURT. My core is so weak. Fun practice and some good quality

Road Bike 2:55:55 [3] 54.0 mi (18.4 mph)

QUALITY ride from TJ's after lunch2. No plans, no PTAP, no shade. Started about 12:30ish and had a l/s shirt under my kit. 100+ in the canyon and baking. Loving it (except for burping up the smoked herring for the first hour)

Rode up Hicks/canyon/Cooks and saw monique still charging on the way back. Got stoked. Headed up and looped Harding to the sanctuary then Maple Springs to the gate on the way back.

Legs are good to go and breathing good at mod-hard efforts. Lots of time at 130bpm and a few 150bpm when holding 140's for a while. Good sets and made up a good run for next time just like I made up before Oside and this ride...always works out. Decided on the bike what I would run today getting off. No need to go big now. Purple patch pinch!

Right off of bike down the path and back. HOT. Left ankle got a pinch (sprained R in race but L is same issue and broken pedal side). Took it steady on the way back and glad I decided on quality for Mon/Wed.

Good day, good recovery week and feels good to be back to "normal" and a better perspective. I think I will be ready next weekend but not worried about it. this is FUN and that is my guide. I wont remember the splits/paces or even the results 5yrs from now but I will remember the fun and the people I got to share time with.... Why else would you do anything?

Skipped masters, slept in and woke up with a txt from my bro. REI used gear sale across the street. Still asleep when we got in and it was nuts. PEOPLE PLEASE! You run 10 miles per year, you are 60lbs to heavy and you fighting over some vibram 5 fingers that you just NEED to have....Madness.

Drove to meeting the boyz at Aliso since we missed the ride M and I got in a solid run. Started together. Legs felt STRONG but still a bit sore. Ran out to meadows and it was quick so I ran to the top. Solid. Got back to the fork and saw James so ran up towards Mathis for a bit and then back to cars. No watch, no shirt, no worries. FUN!

Had road bikes and could have ridden after, could have swam, could have... Got back early and had an night with team bluesails, Dave Mathews and Jack. YES!

Swim (Nova) 50:00 [2]

Feeling good today...back to normal and feeling like smashing it....but I wont. Goodness I have changed. On calls and late to get in the water but a glorious sunny day in warm water. Did some 25s, 50s, 100s some back and breast stroke in there somewhere too. Didnt really pay attention to the set. Last 100 at 1:06 on 5 stroke breathing. Felt smooth. ahhh weekend....

rode out from Pete's after swim and about 2hrs of work. Easy spin to the end of Portola and then a few laps on the crit loop. L leg bugging from the MTB broken pedal and I didn't want to push anything. Banking all on easy this week. Started another loop and turned around to get back and try and finish more work. PTap jacked again

Huge week of work for me...I cant complain about the timing. Just wish I could catch up on sleep. Mon-Wed in the Irvine office and today down in San Diego for meetings and in the office. Could have ridden or played w/ James but headed back and took a nap under a tree at baby beach. Then met Nick for CDM swim w/ the clubs. Nice and easy laps until I was done then I was done.

Road Bike (Aerobic Ride) 58:00 [2] 15.8 mi (16.3 mph)

Drove from swimming to back bay for a little ride and got a call from M. She was just around the corner already riding the loop. Funny. We popped a loop back to her car and then did an out and back on the bike path just easy to steady. Felt good.

Running (Steady) 42:00 [3] 6.1 mi (6:53 / mi)

Decided on a little run after ride. Just about dark. New shoes. Started the loop and felt_kinda_awesome! Rolling at a good pace and effortlessly. Quads and hips still sore but felt magical to be in motion. Fun! Really wanted to do the full loop but 10+ miles would not be good now even if I was feeling good. No cals, no water, no fears. Running under the moonlight with my shadow cast over the water and Dave Mathews whispering sweet nothings in my ear. Going to see/hear him live on Sat. Stoked!

Another huge day at the office. Scramble out after to meet Sarah for a photo shoot. Light efforts and short sprints but legs are coming around.

Solid day at the office until 5pm. No nap but I feel almost caught up on sleep and just quads and some mid-back soreness. Lower back never got sore even w/ the towing and pack. Body actually feels stronger from all the random movements and paddling but I am not going to push anything until I can get back to normal training. My mind is on fire!!

Easy core work and back ext with some shoulder sets w/ DB's. All this between two sauna sessions stretching and then a massage after. Was going to swim but the manatee aqua squad took over the pool so I just opted for some additional rest. Hard to think about training on the road when I want to be in the forest and climbing mountains!

On the way home. More sauna and then 500, 10x50, bla bla. Shoulder still a little sore from paddle and back too but water felt good.

EZ recovery spin w/ Keevin and M down to the beach for some food, coffee and chat time before heading back. True recovery! Got a few naps today too without even knowing it. . . Holy crap... What did I do this weekend??
