Strength (Nova-Special) 20:00 [1]

Lezaks dry land workouts and sequence before getting in the pool. My core is weak! Make me stoked to get some low hanging fruit on the road to quickness. Next year I am going to get fast!

Swim (Nova-WAC-Sprints) 50:00 [5] 1.25 mi (40:00 / mi)

Technique backstroke so Kim moved me to the end of the pool and gave me a breaker set. HURT!

10 x 100 steady/fast/all out

Running (treadmill hill intervals ) 33:00 [3] 4.21 mi (7:50 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Ghost

Later in the day after a 90+min nap. Used hill interval mode and clicked it a few notches faster after every hill. Butt and glutes have major DOMS from switching to the MTB. Prob not enough time to get full use but tech feels dialed in. Awesome weekend and weekend...at home!

Day 2 Monique shuffle date. Fun! Another easy morning and needed some stretching. Kind of on it all day and some sauna time before the swim. Feeling good.

shoes: Montrail-Masochist-org

Capo 24hr - Tried out the 9:1 walk setup and liked it. Running muscles 100% and ready to go. R butt was sore this AM from the bike sprints but gone after stretching and warm up. No soreness, fatigue anywhere

Same route that we ran but down the front and back on the street w/ an extra new single track loop. I LOVE MOUNTAIN BIKING!

Swim (Nova) 50:00 [2] 1.0 mi (50:01 / mi)
weight:152lbs

Nice easy morning and then massage w/ Paula.

I feel EXTREMELY Health right now...Probably more than any other time this year or 2-3 other times this year. Maybe the diet focus, extra rest, low stress whatever but I feel very strong in the muscles, low stress in the mind and super health and uber happy. A good foundation for ultraman fitness. I weighted in at Kona at 157.8lbs (gained 6lbs in the last week) and when they took me to the med tent I was 151.0 with shoes and wet. Not watching weight but there is power in pounds. Looking to bulk up again after Xterra.

Work and then late to lunch swim so talked to Mike and then did my own rounds and repeated between chatting with Mike. Fun!

3 rounds of 300, 150, 6x25(mostly back) with lots of rest between

Mike has some rad stuff for me on Ultraman prep. I can get 3 solid 10-12 practices and he may get people to join me. Art - Hit it up! Specia 8-12K sets ;-)

FUN!

Road Bike (E29 -local loop) 1:33:00 [3] 19.66 mi (12.7 mph) +137ft

Took a short nap after work and then hit the local loop w/ team bluesails. It was getting dark so we grabbed lights and they took CX bikes and I was on the E29. FUN! Down to Long Beach/Seal Beach waves and some single track in the dark at Bolsa on the way home.

Swim (laguna) 50:00 [3] 1.48 mi (33:47 / mi)

Travel is brutal. Engineering summit so I had to get up early. Maybe 4-5hrs sleep. Body feels recovered.

Did the bigger swims from bottom of steady building to end. 100s as easy w/ the first 25 back.

MTN Bike (El Moro Vo2 scat) 1:14:00 [4] 10.57 mi (8.6 mph) +1341ft

Ride after work w/ M at El Moro. LOVE my new mountain bike. By far the best bike I have EVER had and so fun to ride. The frame is super responsive and rails it in turns, the thru-axle makes a HUGE difference in turns and confidence inspiring and the XX stuff...is the stuff. My stoked cup runnith over.

Legs and lungs ready to go right away. Built into some steady pushes and popping into Vo2 zone and then did about 10-12 climbs between 330w-430w seating until the top and then out of the saddle to 5-6xx ranges. All short and less than 1min and just recovery between climbs or rolling back to M.

Legs feeling strong seated and standing and no issues w/ aerobic system. Not use to operating in that zone but should be ready for xterra. Getting my HR up after some other races and feeling nauseous was a clear sign I was not recovered and ready. Felt awesome today and no black lash or fatigue even later in the night or on the run.

Monique rode my bike for a bit (lap2) and then did 3-4 more on the way back to the truck chasing her. Fun!

Running (T-Run) 30:00 [3] 3.95 mi (7:36 / mi) +582ft 6:40 / mi
shoes: Montrail-Masochist-org

Run after ride out and back on the fence line trail. Calves still a little sore but it was pretty retarded how good I felt running. Felt like I could run a marathon today... Breathing was spot on and legs just clicking away. Wanted to keep it on the easy side of steady and went out at about 8:30 pace and floated back at about 6:50 pace. Felt too easy and it is still close so I took a couple walking breaks and just capped it at 30min. Running on trails is FUN!

Road Bike 1:20:00 [3] 24.0 mi (18.0 mph) +1152ft

Morning ride on the queen k out to the energy lab and back up the store hill route. Nice quiet and cool morning. Feeling really good today and just a little sore in ach/calves and downhill quads. That's it. Picked it up to steady a few times and felt solid out of the saddle on climbs. Travel today but probably start running tomorrow. No rush to get back but stoked at how quick it was this time.

Road Bike 25:00 [2] 7.0 mi (16.8 mph) +197ft

Morning ride down to the swim from the condo. Nice out and felt way better spinning out the legs. They are sore and my back is but I dont have any lasting fatigue like after IMSG or Gold Rush. Felt solid all day and rested...not breathing like I am behind aerobically or anything. Stoked! Legs started to feel better and better all day and soreness almost gone

10 AM

Swim (Open Water) 25:00 [2] 1.5 mi (16:40 / mi)

Another glorious swim in the recovery magic of Kona water. Took the GoPro to get some shots of Julie, Moni and Ben and all easy swimming. Then hopped on the Trevor and Will train for a ride back in. Fun!

3 PM

Swim 25:00 [1] 0.5 mi (49:59 / mi)

Turtle bay later in the day. Killer spot and just farted around in the water a bit..

Hung out w/ J&B and Pete and his family. RELAXING!! Cloud coverage and legs started feeling less sore...walking w/out much soreness at all now. All else is good to go.
