Running 1:00:00 [2] 5.6 mi (10:43 / mi) +610ft 9:43 / mi
shoes: NB-1400-ORG

easy early morning run with Monique up the valley. That place is amazing.

Strength 30:00 [3]

All core - lots of twist/ob and lower back

Swim 20:00 [3] 0.5 mi (39:59 / mi)

After sauna w/ M. Cut ride because I drove into parking center in Santa Monica...with the bike in the racks on top of the car. doh. Monique bikes fork snapped in two, broken pars, stripped my forks, crack frame, etc, etc... Sold our other bikes and MTB has no wheels. Looks like I will have an even tighter focus on running.

Solid week - Feeling no major fatigue or limit at 70-80 now and weight is going up and much more elevation gain this week while still getting speedy site in order. Headed in the right direction.

Desert Dash - Day and Night halfs in Malibu
Some of the same trails as Ray Miller but we ran in opposite direction. Managed long climbs in a short course and good technical trails. Opposite from Ray Miller also I was getting faster on the downhill but just had no power on the climbs - no excuse but shows specifics of turtle block/M-creek and lifting this week - Its working!

This time started in the front and planned to stay there until I blew. Ran out with the pack that included my bro Christian over for a short visit. HOT first few miles and one guy took off out front - I ran with Christian until we started the first real climb and the guy out front got out of sight. Put in a really big effort to catch up to that guy....almost chunking and caught him and eventually passed. We were back and forth and noticing the lack of power on climbs but I would catch/pass on downhill. Fighting redline more than fatigue. Interesting place. He pulled away on the last climb and running 6min on the last 3mi was not enough to catch again even when he started walking but super fun. No holding back. Stoked with how it unfolded and effort put in. Best way to get in my speed work!

2 PM

Road Bike 1:00:00 [2] 20.0 mi (20.0 mph)

Rode down to Malibu with a taiwind that wrapped a smile from ear to ear.

6 PM

Running 3:00:00 [3] 16.4 mi (10:59 / mi) +2390ft 9:39 / mi
shoes: Peregrine-blk

Very happy that Nick and Kenia signed up for the 2nd race and that I ran w/ M and Nick. Rare opportunity to run supported under a full moon and epic night. These are the adventures I remember and that stoke_me_out!

Includes WU and CD from both races - much more warming up for 2nd race but felt really good once warmed up. M talked me out of a 3rd lap that night and prob a good thing...for now. Stuck to the schedule and loving it!

Road Bike 1:15:00 [2] 18.0 mi (14.4 mph)

Bike path after outdoor aaa sushi massacre

Strength 45:00 [3]

Strength again w/ Art and Monique - Good warm up routine and then the same routine as Wed but 50# for straight leg dead lifts(same as M!) and 25's and 35's for squats. Already felt stronger on legs and chest stuff.

8 AM

Running 1:52:00 [3] 12.51 mi (8:57 / mi) +1730ft 7:55 / mi
shoes: Peregrine-blk

Legs are sore and felt heavy entire run. Good feel simulation. Turtle block up the switchbacks and 1x repeat up the blocks w/ 3x repeat the last section. Tough workout but glad I finished it. May need to switch to Wed and float Santiago Oaks after weights. Saturday is going to be a kick in the balls.

7 PM

Running 45:00 [2] 5.3 mi (8:29 / mi) +230ft 8:09 / mi
shoes: NB-1400-ORG

Great run and chat.with my homeboy Keevin at the stables on the way home at dark. Full moon full smiles. Legs feeling better already and zero niggles.

Running 1:35:00 [3] 10.7 mi (8:53 / mi) +1234ft 8:00 / mi
shoes: Peregrine-blk

Santiago Oaks - South trails around the back side of the park turned int to a rolling trail that lead back to chuttes ridgeline an all... really enjoying running there.

no socks, no water, no cals, no need. only a 90 minute run in the hills

Swim 20:00 [3] 0.5 mi (39:59 / mi)

amazing how this day opened up... Easy swim before meeting Art.

Strength 1:00:00 [4]

Strength session with Mr Art Sosa Jr. I will be very sore.

Core before then back, leg ext/curls, deep squats/25's, pull overs, bent over rows and THE one lift I needed - straight leg dead lifts/10's, lunges/25#bar, curls/tri ext, calves.

Felt that same area on the tri bike, long climbs running, etc, etc, etc. Quads do not get sore anymore but that top ham is THE one thing I can see huge gains from. Super stoked to have something to work on and wisdom from Art.
