Note
fly out and back to San Jose last night for QBRs - New team growing strong. I love my job - big day and quads still sore walking but felt better after shaking them out with a few drinks!
Pete is doing TS100 - stoked! He looked up stats and last year course was 88mi and 12K of climbing with winners going ~9hr30min. This year more single track 103mi and 17K of climbing and over 100 degrees in canyons...expected leaders going 12hrs+. Yikes! I am screwed!!
Swim (Nova) 1:00:00 [3] 1.92 mi (31:15 / mi)
First thing Mike tells me when I walk on deck "anything worth doing is worth overdoing" - ha! Never heard that before...but I like it! Getting stronger everyday. Swam w/ Art and took turns blowing up in the front of the lane.
1000 continuous as (200KU/200/200KU/200/100KU/100)
5x100 descending 5sec each from 1:50 (1:30-1:32)-improvement
3x500 (400 on 1st because of blow up)
100 flop
-------
3,100meters
walking normal but legs still feel bruised touching and stretching.
Road Bike (Epic) 1:45:00 [3] 19.8 mi (11.3 mph) +459ft
got a txt from Max to run at the track - sounded like a good idea b/c it was flat.
more changes on the Epic and rode over to Max house because I thought we were going to the track across the street from his bad...11 miles later I realized we were not! Took the short way home w/ M. Good spin. Legs had nothing on the climbs.
Running (Track) 46:00 [4] 6.3 mi (7:18 / mi)
shoes: NB-1400-CLR-3
you always run faster at the track "fast is fun" - Yes it is!
Had bike as warm up so just did a bunch of 800's with walking between. Just what i needed. Hard getting going and quads still really sore but got better as I broke a sweat. Clunky but quicker than expected and not running hard at all - just comfortably quick.
If I can get in a track session after Baldy and the week of a 100 mile MTB race I can fit it in any Wednesday for the rest of the year. DONE DEAL!
