Happy Valley Loop w/ the crew. We opted to skip McK shuttle due to rain at night and sleeping in. I have had such good sleep in the Westa pad. Stoked we did..it would have been a 5hr ride and 8+hr day and we got to drive out and get in some of the slap happy fun real mtb action. I have not had that much ripping downhill with Joe since 4yrs ago in Mammoth.



Remembering the tight section w/ M out front and J&J with me 1 wheel apart and J busting air will be a moment that I will never forget. Such a fun day and evening

Warm up up Mt Bachelor and around the start. Prob best WU so far with breakfast and heading into race timing for a half.

13.6 miles of tempo at elevation on day 30 of 30. Did not plan to end the block like this but a great training day and I ran a lot faster than I would have alone. Just the prep I needed. Course was a little long after moving the start due to fires. 1:37 at the half. Hard effort for me as expected.

Took of with lead pack trying to get to front. 2 & 3rd after one dude ran ahead on after we got to the back bend before the loop. I was catching on the climbs and loosing ground on flat/downhills...still. When we got the the halfway point we had a 3-4mi fire road stretch. I was running low 6min pace and getting dropped. 2nd to 5th place just like that but faster for me than before. stayed there pushing until the finish line and trying to get under 1:40(last years winnig time). Had plenty of fast sections and happy w/ the effort and build into Cuyamaca. Quickness is much better and tempo is helping. I just need to slow it down a half click and run about 5x longer ;-)

EZ spin around Elk Lake after sucking down some IPA's. Popped out on the Leadman course and rode back around. Gnar course and smoke all over the lower parts. Right after finishing my sinuses have been jacked and some burning in my eyes/throat but not as bad w/ the breeze we had. Stoked for Nick! He crushed it way under his goal time too

Rolled down to the Old Mill District this morning to get coffee w/ M and Jill and then hit a bunch of shops, Leadman expo stuff and just enjoying.

Ride w/ Monique out down Phil's Trail and back on Ben's. Rode Joe's Scale 29er. Trails would be really fun on a CX bike. Flowing single track through an old forest.

Smoke still visible through trees and copule emails from RD looks like the race may be cut. Would actually be happy about it at this point. Dragging today even after nap and just want to roll around in town

Feeling very tired last couple days and legs/butt sore from? run yesterday but more about just having too many OMG moments in the last couple/few months traveling. Brazilian blowout.

Run out from Westa's down to the river and around on the Bend trails w/ Monique, Jill & Nick. Jumping into trailtime in just minutes from the front door.

The crew drove out to Sun River to ride around and I opted to run. Rad water areas and made me want to paddle. Good loop until sunset and ended w/ 4 strides. A little faster than I should have been at times and strides will prob help more for a coupe weeks than tomorrow but thas good.

Pulled out of the op to do the YogaSlackers race. Trying to stick to the outline for the rest of the year and learn from my lessons. Someday it would be cool tho...great way to explore a new area

All I have had time for last couple days. Slammed trying to finish up work and French girls, big P scramble, etc. feeling much better and quicker today but holding back. Need more sleep/less stress. Too many POCs right now.
