race (~1hr20min) + warm up and spin after rolling to the back of the course to take some pics and ride that rolling 1track again. Fun!

Jumped into the XC race and only pro and everyone else group (100+ people) but head just was not in "race mode" and not worried about it at all. Got my 30min of speed work and had a blast on the trails.

Started a little deep and group split a few times. I was hurting on the climbs but riding downhill like never before. F_U_N_! Not even taking chances but the dirt was sticking and I was picking off people left and right. Rode through a bunch of people and then alone passing every now and then. Found one guy ahead so worked to catch him by the back of the course. Passed him next downhill and then lost him and alone again by the time I got back to the start/finish area (had no idea i had moved into 1st overall at this point)

Nobody directing at start/finish and I just saw tape for the short course so I turned down there and when I hit the road some girls told me I went the wrong way. doh. Got back up and to the climb but lost sight of that guy and just rode at a pace that I would enjoy ripping the downhill and climb at a comfy hard pace. Saw the guy ahead here and there but never caught him. Stopped to pick up a pump and then rode with the guy behind me (good at downhill but sucked climbing - good for me I guess but wanted to push him up a few hills). He was in the stage race so I told him I would just chat at him and follow him in. He slowed way down the last few climbs but we stuck together and it was rad ripping some downhill forcing myself to take opposite lines as a challenge. I figured we were 8th or 9th. ha. I wont forget that last lap ripping those trails thats for sure.

t-run after race. Legs felt good but fatigue from no sleep and rough packing week. Ran out to the river and then to the highway and 1track back. Reminded me of McKenzie river in Bend! Green bloom, wild flowers and dirt was delicious!

pretty dang stoked to get out to Keysville and explore the trails. Cool crowd and Keevin got a great spot. Took it out for two laps on the short course track and then loaded the vest for a lap of the XC course. Dropped down the trail to the freeway that we never took before in the back of the course for an added out and back. ~10min climb up from the tree. All the gears and stops to check Nicks splits and txting Scott here and there.

Love those trails and literally hundreds of miles of singletrack to explore.

MTN Bike 30:00 [2] 5.0 mi (10.0 mph) +500ft

Spin just rolling and checking bike. Got the bolts for my shifters since they broke and I took the other one out. Long crazy night with the van doors but the rain and wind made it fun. Finn was sleeping like a baby as usual but I maybe got 2hrs. Still super stoked to be camping and the rain on that course made for some of the best conditions I have ever seen or could imagine. Fun!!

First shift into the big ring and my shifter breaks off...would not have stopped me before and not going to stop me now. Fun loop out down old emerald and loving the trails right now with grass in bloom. Lots of stops and just cruise mode.
