Swim 23:00 [3] 1.0 mi (23:00 / mi)
Malibu tri swim - No warmup but the water was incredibly clear and warm. Scramble to the first buoy and then found some feet that I was latched onto for the rest of the swim all the way to the last wave in. Think and thin, through packs, around clogs, etc. The "habit and skill" ingrained to make it a no brainer and effortless for basically not swimming at all. Got out 3rd in our group with very little effort and amazed at how it was just like riding a bike...in a draft!

Bike was going well and pretty stoked on this course and glad I showed up. Really reminded me of the Queen K. Rolling up north along coast and I pushed the climbs feeling great. Legs felt weak but still hit the turn around at about 30min? Unfortunately, I got a rear flat shortly after and just ditched my spare in T1 because I "never get flats". 3rd race in a row where I had bike issues - Oside broke my pedal, BB broke my face. All good. Walked to get a phone and call support then rode back and just took in the coast. Good memories of the SB camp on the roads up there

found some shoes in the car in the morning - had sole insoles that I have not used in over a year. One small blister. Almost worried about the distance but it went by so fast. Yogged it out and then found a guy yelling at me when i was walking at an aid station telling me I was his rabbit. Ha. I told him get on board and we made up time on the last ~3mi. That was the best part of the race for me - running with a teammate and ripping for the fun of it.
Not really sore the next day except some back and lower leg muscles. Stoked to see basically "nothing changes and nothing stays the same" and the outcome of what was from the night before (and months before). You never know unless you get yourself to the starting line. Learn it nerd!
