Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

No warm down

Orienteering race 42:00 [4]

In other circumstances i might not have run, but i did, and the outcome was not so great. Started well, hung at the back of the pack, things started to string out and a stuck in just behind the swiss and sweeds. Then thing started to get bad contouring back across, feet could not really handle it, concintration went and i missed two before the spectator sending me backwards. The second bit was on the much rockier side and i just couldnt run and time just leaked away, so not a great day.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Orienteering race 35:00 [4]

Today was again all about the orienteering, plan was to start steady and confidence up. Started well untill the end of 3 where i dropped in too early and lost ~50s, not disaplined with direction as i had kept contact and then rushed in at the end. Kept a steady pace and went slowly into the next couple, lost ~1m in the circles in the middle then through it away at the end. Getting tiered and feet sore i knew it was going to be a tricky control so stayed on the path as long as possible, but i had completely mis-interpreted the contours (a mistake a lot seemed to make) and binned ~1.40 and that was that. However given this years training and preperation i am pretty happy with the result.

Cycling long 12:00 [2]

Spin later as i could not face warming down on my feet, even this was bad and about as much as i could manage.

Running warm up/down 32:00 [2]

Morning jog with Roz round the campus.

Running warm up/down 35:00 [2]

Orienteering race 19:10 [4]

WUOC sprint, was tempted not to run and save my ankle/calf for the middle...lucky i changed my mind. Was prepaired for the unexpected as from the final details i struggled to understand quite how they would fit the course in. Was possibly the hardest sprint i have done but great fun, sometimes it pays to be unfit, at no point could you really open up. Maybe lost ~40s in total through route choices and doubling back, the winning time was pretty impressive, could not have touched it.

Orienteering race 57:00 [2]

Taking a look around the terrain, didnt really do the course just checked out the mapping style and what were the best navigatonal features: distinct veg with boundaries, contours, steepness, walls.
