Cross Country Skiing 1:15:00 [1]

Easy paced ski above escarpment in Beamsville. Conditions terrible, breathing bad esp. at first.

Overall though, despite ongoing problems and anxiety over breathing, a very good week. Highest weely volume in years. - 4:50

Goals for this coming week: mix of skiing and running (depends on snow conditions), work out with Hammerlings on Wednesday, long workout 2 hours plus on Sat morning, at least 5 workouts for 6 hours or more.

Cross Country Skiing 1:50:00 [3]

Skied at Dundas with Hammer and Tarno. Thick snow, skating, very tough - worked hard to try to keep up (couldn't). Breathing hard at beginning.

Cross Country Skiing 1:20:00 [2]

Skied at Chedoke with Hammer. Snow thick and heavy, used skating skies but did a lot of classic on them. First skiing this year, first skating in years - lots of muscles I don't normally use.

Didn't use ventilator before (forgot), a bit short of breath but not enough to make a difference. Puffed after, feels OK. Getting there.

Running 1:45:00 [2]

Ran with Hammer at Borers, woods and trails. Hills. - 5 degrees C, a bit icy, ground solid - OK so not perfect but the snow is coming.

Used the ventilator again just before, this time it seemed to help - after the first 20 minutes I felt I could just run until the legs gave out, chest and lungs not a problem. Cautiously optimistic.

Running 1:10:00 [2]
(sick)

Steady slowish pace on Bruce trail in Beamsville, all flat.

Day 2 on ventilator, chest/lungs still sore and constricted.

Note
(sick)

Saw doctor today. Might be exercise induced asthma, got a puffer to try out. Getting some tests done - breathing test was a bust, painful to breathe hard, apparently at this time I have the lungs of a 54 yr old. Yikes. Chest X ray taken; blood work and ECG on Thursday.

Running 1:10:00 [2]
(sick)

One more time up the mountain at St Hilaire. Worse today, had to walk the steep hills again. Not a happy camper.
