Orienteering (Flying Pig) 45:00 [4]

Day 3 of the Pig. Had a sore and dry throat starting at dinner Sat night, woke up with it. Took some Ibuprofen, warmed up, ran OK anyway, better than I'd expected but not fast enough to keep up with the young pups.

Hammer first high 39, Sudden 2nd 40, me 3rd 43 for another GHO sweep.

Generally very pleased with the weekend. Gimme 4 more months like the last 4 and I'll run well at the Canadians!

Running 15:00 [3]

Anudder decent warmup although more of an attempt to wake up and stave off death by freezing....

Orienteering (Flying Pig) 1:15:00 [4]

Flying Pig day 2. Another good run, pretty consistent. Couple of slightly questionable route choices, only one control missed, so could have cut 2 or 3 minutes but not much more. Faster woods today but feeling a lack of speed generally.

Hammer had a much better day and took first with high 75; I was second high 77, Sudden 3rd (80?) for a GHO sweep. Moved my Canadian ranking to 10th...

Running 15:00 [3]

Did a good warmup including some fast running, wind sprints.

Orienteering (Flying Pig) 45:00 [4]

First A meet of the year at the Pig, with Hammer, Sudden and ? (Wil Smith). Very hot, thick with vines, low on the fun factor. Orienteered quite well technically although felt very heavy physically - partly the heat.

Hammer flamed out, Smith is out of shape, and Sudden made some mistakes, so I managed a win. Sergei from Brooklyn was second, Sudden third.

Not a bad start to the season.

Running 15:00 [3]

warmup, did a good warmup, included some wind sprints.

Running 50:00 [2]

Relatively easy run on Bruce in Beamsville. Staying loose for the Pig.
