| Motala: Street-O -- Yellow -- Orange, extrapolated time, because on the last loop, Andy handed me a White map, which I did not notice until I finished. After about 2 minutes to reset my HRM from recovery mode, I did the Orange loop, so the time of 54:22 is the total time for St-Y-W-O less the time I think I spent on White. |

| Estimated time. It wasn't until the end of the White that the thought occurred to me, "These legs weren't of Orange difficulty."
Some of the legs or controls were the same as on Yellow, and the thought occurred to me of Groundhog-O, doing the same leg again and again until you can execute it flawlessly at top speed. |

| Exploring an area near Worcester/Holden line called Nick's Woods, that I had a bit of trouble finding. Some of it was ridable (downhill), some was wet, none was too technical or dangeous. When the ground dries up, it might actually be a fun place for a novice MTBer like me. |

| Work to Volvo shop. Not fixed, and I was late for all the afternoon shlepping that followed. |

| CMS Wachusett Reservoir 5K. Went out intending to hold a moderate pace, but something about people passing me must have ignited the competitive spirit. :-) Lost 10-15s retying a shoe (grr), but eventually repassed all those who passed me while l was idle. Once again, able to climb the hills OK, faster than those around me, though it didn't seem so fast. (It wouldn't be fast to orienteers or other trail runners, I bet. The same speed ascents at the trail race last Sunday would have been pedestrian, at best.)
Hustled out after the race without a cooldown, to see a theatrical presentation at WPI of "The Princess Bride" -- inconceivable! |

| Out the main spur from gate 8 to the shore of the reservoir and back. The view north across the reservoir to Route 12? in Sterling? is one I had never enjoyed before. |

| Out and back on Salisbury St at twilight. Saw several runners. This was a popular time to be out after a scorcher of a day with temps in the mid-high 90's. At twilight it was a humid and warm 75-ish, so I sweated plenty. |
Monday Jun 9 |

| Out and back from Daniel's karate lesson. Still pretty warm at 5:30 in the afternoon. |
