Road running long 2:02:41 [1] 13.6 mi (9:01 / mi)
ahr:143 max:167 shoes: BA9

Long run with the CMS Sunday gang. Most of them did only 8, but J and I ran the reservoir. Light to moderate rain falling, but we saw our club's elite women on the res headed the other way.

Wonderful company, the miles flew by. No worries with traffic around the res, just a tiny bit of concentration avoiding the deepest puddles.

Thoroughly soaked by the end of the run. Glad I didn't have to run much longer.

Road running tempo 30:38 [4] 4.2 mi (7:18 / mi)
ahr:157 max:169 shoes: BA9

Horse loop as a tempo run. P told me they'd repaved it recently, so I ran it. There were parts recently repaved, but they didn't raise the fixtures to the new grade level.

After the previous day's race, the pace felt manageable but tough.

Road running warm up/down 30:00 [1] 2.75 mi (10:55 / mi)
shoes: BA8

Warmup before and extra running after a race at work around the loop road.

Road running race 16:41 [4] 2.26 mi (7:23 / mi) +64m 6:47 / mi
ahr:163 max:181 shoes: BA8

Loop road race at work. 2 loops of a mostly flat ring road, with a gradual descent and a somewhat steeper ascent at the end. Nothing too tough, maybe 3% grade at its steepest? Laps of 8:03/8:38.

Disappointing effort. I felt like my legs could not turn over. No one was really breathing down my neck, so I wasn't pressured from behind, and I couldn't seem to reel in anyone in front, although I did gain some ground on the first serious uphill.

Last year's time on the same course: 16:11.
