Road running long 1:12:26 [2] 7.6 mi (9:32 / mi)
ahr:149 max:167 shoes: BA9

Long run with the gang. We were all together at last. J ran 11 or so marathons this year, and P ran 10, including a marathon yesterday that I didn't know they were planning on.. Phew. I joked with J that he only ran 3 more marathons in the last few weeks than Alanis Morissette, and also that Rhode Island and Vermont, the two New England states he did not run a marathon in, are feeling deprived.

Temps were cool, though it was forecast to be a delightful day. So, after arriving home, I packed up my O stuff and headed to the Middlesex Fells.

Orienteering race 1:34:26 [2] 4.4 km (21:28 / km)
ahr:135 max:167 shoes: Jalas2

Green course on the Pine Hill section of the Middlesex Fells. Really spotty reading the map, but it was a delightful day (mid 60's) in the woods.

Strength 2:00:00 [2]

2+ hours of chainsawing. Sharpening the blade makes all the difference. Got a major section of the driveway cleaned up, as well as completed the work of cutting the blowdown into manageable lengths. Phew.

Hill workout across the street on Westwood Rd. .5M w/u, then 2x up and down the 0.55M/6% average grade street. Out of shape. c/d same .5M. Nice views from near the top of Westwood Hill.

Road running 30:42 [1] 3.23 mi (9:30 / mi)
ahr:149 max:171 shoes: BA8

Morning run to the grocery store for bagels. 14:52 out @ 145, 15:51 back @ 153. Really shuffle-y gait. Hamstrings still a bit sore from the chainsawing.

Note

Hair of the dog: Did a bit more chainsawing in the afternoon. Tried to elevate my work so I wasn't so bent over. Not quite so ouchy when the work is 2 feet off the ground compared to 6" above the ground.

Road running 48:40 [1] 5.4 mi (9:01 / mi)
ahr:152 max:173 shoes: BA9

5M out-and-back along Salisbury, by way of the mailbox to drop off my registration for the Traverse. After reaching the end of 5M, I continued to the poll to vote. Much less traffic at 9 than at 7.

Bonus: by running to the poll, I was able to avoid all the smiling idiots^H^H^H^H^H^H supporters standing near the polls waving their signs.

Legs felt tired still.

Note

Woke up this morning with a bit of a scratchy throat from postnasal drip. This would NOT be a good time to catch the &*(^ing flu.
